2009 Buck Harvest By Age Class - You Might Be Surprised!

    Big bucks didn't get big by being dumb! 1.5 year old bucks are just about the dumbest deer in the woods come November. They don't realize that after the first few shots that they should run for cover instead of prancing out in the opening waiting to get shot. Last year we have 9 bucks on camera that were over 3.5 years old yet I only managed to see 2 of those bucks, and that's me hunting every weekend from Mid September to the last weekend in November. They are tough deer to kill.

    You can knock yearling bucks all you want, just remember that someone, somewhere, thinks 3.5s are easy to kill too. Especially if you use one of those modern and accurate compounds. Just sayin...

    Its not the hunters fault the deer are "dumb". Do you hunt during the rut? I hope not. Bucks will just go prancing out in the open with no concern for safety. Thats not even real hunting.
