The harvest breakdown so far shows 71.4 percent does and 28.6 percent bucks. The top five counties are: 1. Pike 333 deer, 2. Peoria 190, 3. Fulton 161, 4. LaSalle 141, 5. Vermilion 138.

Surprised to see LaSalle county on that list. That is where I usually hunt and I haven't seen nearly the amount of deer that I have in the past.

I have access to a 300 acre private farm in LaSalle County that is mainly duck hunted and shot gun hunted for deer, might have to swing down there.

I'd be willing to bet it's due to the proximity to Chicago. Number of hunters is probably driving that figure versus number of deer. Not to mention it's a rather huge county.

I am sure there is something to that thought Justin. With all the Starved Rock public land avaialble to hunt gives tons of access for city slickers to get out.
