Google Image search "wedding ring degloving" and you'll see why they're a great idea. I degloved my finger from a wedding ring accident 4 years ago; it's a life-changing experience...
I wear mine every single day and love it. Probably the best $20 or so I've spent in a long time. It's more comfortable, I don't bang it on things when I'm hunting or working, and don't have to worry about ripping my finger off if I get it caught on a tree step or climbing stick. I think I own 3 or 4 of them now.
Wedding rings have caused more harm to mankind than any other object. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’ve seen it first hand but this is what it looks like. Saw a woman slip on a ladder. Well, her body slipped, her hand stayed where it was on the ladder. Silicon wedding rings sound wonderful lol Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Qalo rings are a big deal among police/fire/ems, if it werent for that I may never have learned about then. I only wear my wedding band on special occasions now. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
Ruteger that’s horrible! Not the kind of Meat we want to de bone!!! I used to work inside live electrical panels quite a bit. I just never wore mine but a couple guys I worked with had wooden rings (non conductive) problem is they are still strong enough to do damage in a slip/fall/snag scenario. My wife has begged me to just get it tattooed lol not gonna happen. I’m going to consider a qalo. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Might be useful for working out too. I take mine off when I lift. Seen this happen with heavy weights. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
the 3 rings the engagement ring the wedding ring and the suffering. I kid I have been married 26 years more than half my life.
Opening the thread is a lot better than seeing it on your own hand in real life; I assure you... Silicone rings are where it's at.
For the first month, doctors were uncertain whether I'd keep it, but in the end it survived. I barely have any feeling in it,the circulation is very poor so it's cold all the time, and I have about 30% flexibility in it making it slower than all the other fingers so it slows everything else down on that hand. Sometimes I wish I lost it because of how useless and achy it is. The pain during healing is indescribable and I'd previously broken my pelvis and also almost lost a leg in a snowmobile accident. Took me about 2.5 years to mostly get over the ptsd from it, even though I still struggle with it mentally at times. For the first year, about 30-40 times a day, I'd get random jolts up my spine and the sensation of my finger ripping. When it first happened, the hand surgeon, who worked on me and had dealt with the exact injury a number of times, told me that I was going to have a long recovery both mentally and physically. He said a number of times he's worked with people with the injury who heal up completely like I have and then come into his office a few years later and ask for it to be amputated. I never wore my wedding ring when I was doing home carpentry and other things with my hands, and had just put my ring back on a day or two before this happened, and I was even wearing gloves a minute before it happened but took them off at the top of the treestand ladder because I was struggling with a bound up ratchet strap. Same injury happened to Jimmy Fallon after falling in his house, so it's impossible to safeguard against completely unless you go with a silicone ring or no ring at all. Long rant, but in short, don't wear metal rings.
