My neighbor where I live at has been poaching, baiting, spotlighting deer for the past 2 yrs and after 100's of calls to local sheriff's office and multiple communications with my homeowner's association .... The hoa finally provided me with good information for wildlife violations to be reported... I call them and file a report on my neighbor-not even 10 mins later the warden calls me back and I explain the situation and as soon as I mention his name the warden goes I have been trying to catch that A**hole for 3+ yrs... So the warden gives me his work cell and says call him if I see or hear anything.. I call him the 1st time and say he is spotlighting and he says if he hasnt shot yet so about 2weeks goes by and I see him spotlight &shoot so I call the warden...He comez out after dark and sits in my driveway for about 2 hrs and my neighbor shoots again.. The warden waits for my neighbor to go retrieve the deer which happens about an hour later... The warden hauls butt up to his house and takes care of business... Confiscated his rifle, spotlight, feeder and food supply... Issued him 4 tickets for a grand total of $2500 plus set a court date at which time he could receive jail time but the warden thinks that since he's a72 yr old war vet they'll cut him some slack

To make matters worse when questioned by the warden my neighbor lied to his face and said he didnt shoot a deer ... The warden gave him 1 last chance to come clean @ which time he did...

** The reason I turned him in is because I am a hunter and love being able to do so... If i have to pay for liscenses then so should he. We have PLENTY of hunting spots here... The #1 reason I called him in though was because his deck outside his bedroom that he shoots from faces directly towards my house
and more specifically my bedroom window and I have 2 small children plus my dog and rabbit and I dont want anything to happen to any of us if he misses which he has because there is a tree beside my house which has 2 bullet holes in it so I can only imagine it was him

Good job. More sportsmen need to step and put a stop to poachers/law breakers. I keep the PGC and poacher hotline numbers in my phone.

no need to justify what you did. you did the right thing. Your family's safety is number 1. I hope they throw the book at him. If more people get prosecuted for it, it might deter others.

It was a great thing catching him! But do you think this might cause even more trouble for you with him? I know having a dispute with your neighbor is never good thing.

Yeah I am pretty sure he knows it was me that reported him but I dont care. He shouldnt be breakimg the law. Yhe warden was more excited to catch him than I was haha he said he was FINALLY able to nail him. I have the wardens number for any future issues which hopefully he will learn his lesson but then again he is a stubborn old man...

Im hoping to be able to move away early next year. Its almost to the point of NOT being enjoyable coming home because he is such a prick

This is only one of the issues we have had with him... The other major issue has been his driving habits- he has an older chevy p/u with a 350 and straight pipes and he likes to FLY up and down the neighborhood roads which mind you are gravel ... He also likes to rev his truck as he drives by at like 2-3am because he is an a**hole... The 2nd week we lived here I was walking along the road with my 3 y/o daughter at the time and my shepherd because it was a nice spring day and he saw us and floored his truck I guess trying to show off and he got squirrely and nearly hit us I had to jump into the ditch to get away...

I kindly went to his hiuse that evening and nicely told him if he ever did that stupid crap again I would give him a a** whoopin... He nearly killed us trying to be an inconsiderate jackass...

Unfortunately due to mine and my Fiancee's finances we can't afford to move so right now there is no escape
