Hey guys, me and a buddy have been self filming for the last 2 years and have truly loved it. Our biggest problem we've encountered has been not having the proper computers to get the videos done as we'd like. I finally upgraded from my '09 iMac to a Samsung 7 Spin, 1 TB Hard drive, 16 GB and i7. It has made a world of difference. Anyway, check out these 2 videos and let me know what you think. sweet vids, I just recently built my own desktop for the same purpose Sent from my SM-G920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I think I'm running into similar issues, I don't think my HP laptop is powerful enough. I'm having issues just importing all my footage onto the computer!!! I can tell this editing thing is gonna be really frustrating trying to figure it out! Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.
Import all your footage to an external hard drive and only import the footage your working on in your editing program. Watch youtube videos on editing....They helped me a lot and still do. I run my laptop on youtube "How to" video's while editing on my desktop.
I agree with everything drslyr said. Keep your computer's hard drive as free as possible. Store all videos on an external drive and only have the videos your are working with stored on your computer. When you finish, move them over to the external. It'll help tremendously
I have a an operating hardrive and a seperate data drive on my freshly built desktop. I also keep all trail cam images and not footage on an external 1TB that stays connected at all times to the thing. Night and day difference. Liked the videos!
Like others have said. I keep all of my media that I am working with on a separate hard drive. I actually have many hard drives that I work from and back up to. But the biggest thing that I did was last winter when I installed a 250 GB solid state drive as my main OS and program hosting drive. This is HUGE in boosting performance, especially on an older machine. I could not believe how much the performance improved in programs like Premiere Pro, Resolve, Photoshop, Light Room, and even AutoCAD. It is a night and day difference and worth every cent.
