It takes a couple minutes to listen to but interesting. What are your thoughts?

I always thought it was first fatal shot, ie if your shot will kill it, a single lung will kill it so even if a second hunter kills it with a follow-up shot the first shot in the vitals "claims it"

People get crazier the bigger the antlers, or any antlers really.

Long range shooting at its finest.

Should be able to see that collar (which I dispise) from outer space.
Give the girl her deer, give her a high5 and move on.

I was always taught first to draw blood gets it - lethal hit or not. Not sure what the law is technically, but that's how I've always operated. The exception being if the first person to draw blood willingly wants to give it up to the person who killed it.

IMO the story isn't as bad as the internet makes it out to be. It's a classic case of piling on and virtue signaling by all of the self-righteous meme-makers out there.

**** like this has three sides, his hers and the truth.
Not something I would get all worked up about.
Now all that said I can’t think of anything that would have stopped me from happily helping that young girl with the buck she hit, regardless of where my shot was.

I know this for a fact. Needing content for commercial ventures drives people to do some F u cking really stupid things. I have witnessed that first hand.

So I was told in NY when I got my hunting license at 14 that there is only an “unwritten” rule.

With a bow, first kill shot gets deer

With a gun, first one that knocks it down.

Regardless, I’m not getting shot or watch a kid cry because I pitch a fit about it rightfully being my deer…

I shot an ice 8 point with a gun because my nephew’s gun jammed. The buck turned and ran right at us and he shot it at 7 paces and it dropped

While skinning it, there were 3 holes… my entry and exit and his in the chest… I just called it his deer .. I couldn’t imagine calling it any other way
