I went to New York to hunt at my uncles property from the 10th to the 17th of november. The 1st day there I saw a nice buck but unfortunately he was cruising for does about 100 yards away. That night I had 3 Does run under my stand. I saw a TON of deer. I kept seeing a little 6 point and got to shoot at the thing twice but shot over its back both times. My Uncle said that they will duck your arrow and to shoot only when their heads down. Well I learned that the second time I missed. The next morning I went out and saw 2 does and that big buck again this time he was probably 50 yards away. I grunted at him but that had no affect. Well now its about 11:30 in the morning and I was getting hungry so Im about to climb down and looked up to see a doe probably 30 yards from me crossing a creek. Im used to hunting moose here in Alaska... they dont sneak up on you. Those deer are so quite you cant really see them until they are right there. Morning # 4 I get to my stand and same thing. I see a doe and that big buck but they were headed for tall grass. This whole time my dad is under my tree about 5 yards away hidden in some willow bushes. Its 8:00am now and I hear a twig snap. I looked behind me and there it is... the 6 point I missed the 2 days before. I stood up and drew back when he was about 30 yards away. He walked about 10 yards from my dad in the bushes with his nose in the air, wind right in his direction his head went down and ... Well I let some carbon fly and FINALLY!! I made contact. It was a little farther back than I would have liked but he was bleeding good. Arrow was a clean pass through. I hit it in the liver and it walked maybe 60 yards. I waited about an hour and my dad and uncle helped me track it even though it was like following a river of blood. We got to about 20 yards from the deer and pushed it. It ran for a quarter of a mile and ended up dieing in my uncles back yard right next to the meat cart. No dragging what so ever. It was an exciting hunt and I will be back next year. 1st big game kill and with a bow. My uncle said it was the darkest whitetail hes ever seen. I work at a taxidermy shop and Im going to do a shoulder mount since its my 1st one. Deer gutted weighed 115lbs.
Not even close. Fergie Clause is for all bucks that will score under 50. This one is well over 50! Pull your head out of your backside Seven!!! LOL
Congrats on a great buck! Although.. your name would be cooler if it was AK47.. rather than AK907. Just sayin'...
