I killed more deer over the course of the season with a gun than a bow.

4-3 the gun squeaked out a victory this year with a last day doe.

I haven't killed with a gun in three years. It's not for lack of opportunity. If I hadn't filled the freezer with the bow early on, the 06 would have been barking.

I havn't shot a deer with a rifle since 2004, I actually miss the feeling when the gun kicks and the loud bang!

    Yeah, but......................

You need to tell the "rest of the story". I know at least one of those was a pistol kill. Respect! I'm gonna try it.........if I can shrink my groups to "vital-sized".

    Cingrats on your season.

Whatever it takes! Sounds like you had a Good season!

I've Never hunted with a Gun. Never felt the need and to be honest with the long bow season and short gun season here in IL I was usually ready for a 3 day break :-)

Sounds like a great season, Rybo.

1st time since 2005 that I have NOT killed a buck. Well...he's out there somewhere. I'm still working on tracking him. :)

Yes, one was with a pistol, the other 3 a slug gun. If it was up to me they all would have been handgun kills, but we have a VERY dumb regulation in the one unit that I hunt. I can use a slug gun or an inline but I can't use a handgun of anykind :mad::confused::confused:

Sounds like a great season to me too Ryan. Fantastic season in fact being that your in PA. I haven't taken a deer with a gun in more than 10 years and the last one was with a flintlock. That's my choice and there is nothing wrong with the choice you made this year. You likely had a fantastic time doing so and that's all that counts. Congratulations on a fantastic year. Well deserved.
