HAHA alright GA what every you say man. If a person could put two perfect shots on target, one at 30 yards from the ground and the other 30 yards from the stand then the elevated shot will hit 2-3" higher on the target. Why? I do not know but i know that this is the way it is
You shoot for the horizontal range not the line of sight. Plain and simple....that's 30 yards. With proper form the arrow goes to the same spot. I've said my piece on it, continue trying to work on your sight issue.
That was my old set up. I didn't have a problem because my pins were on 2 seperate tracks so I could over lap the pin bases. I could actually set 2 pins the exact same. I was shooting at 285fps. I had mine set at 20yd, 30yd, 40yd, 50yd and 75yd. My new one has 6 pins. I am not sure how it will be set up period. My rest isn't even in yet.
I know why. You aren't bending at the waist. I can and have busted an arrow in half doing what you said. I shot one from the ground, climbed 20 feet up with my climber at 30yd and hit dead in the same spot. Because the second was at an angle and busted through the first one. Now, 2"-3" is no where near 6"-8" which may mean you are bending some but, not as much as you should be. Then again it could be your set up is faster.
oh i see. your not talking about the 12 carbon element. I think the bow madness and the carbon element have the same IBO speed i am shooting a lighter arrow though 334 grains
everything depends on how steep your shot is. a ground level 30 yard shot is not the same as a 30 yard 45 degree elevated shot i do not care what anybody says.
The IBO/ATA is 330fps on the Element. The Madness IBO 312-320fps. I have still yet to figure out why they give a range instead of one number. I am not going to get into all the Hoyt uses ATA and not IBO to calculate and all that crap. I will probably have the same problem you are having. I will be shooting through a chrono to find out my exact numbers though and I will be posting that as well.
I agree but, to be at a 45 degree angle to the ground in a tree at 30 yards, you would have to be 30yd up the tree which is 90 FEET!! Do you climb 90 feet?? I sure hope not.
If you are the same height in the tree as you are from the deer, maybe. If you are 20 feet up and the deer is 20 from the base this would be true. That would be 6.7 yards from the tree.
Yeah, I know. I had a brain fart. I saw that as I was scrolling down just now. lol I'll fix that right now.
I believe you are giving the IBO for the bow madness XS. I have the Bow Madness which is the middle model rated at 331-323 IBO
ok if the deer is 30 yards from the bass of the tree then your range finder will not say 30 yards it will say something like 40 yards (dont really know it depends on the angle and how hight you are up). If your range finder says 40 yards and you use your 40 yard pin then you will MISS.
They will probably be close to the same and my pins will more than likely be 25, 35, 45, 55, 75 and 90 or something like that.
