I got permission from my better half this weekend to start the sheddin season. Granted it was a bit early for around here, but I just couldn't resist, all the bucks I saw in the woods had both sides yet, but the weather was above 15 degrees and I have had enough of sitting around the house. Went out for a couple hours Saturday, and got skunked, but the 2 hours on Sunday wasn't a complete wash. A pine row (about 50 yards long x 4 rows wide) had alot of sign in it, so I hunkered down and hunched over and worked my way down the middle and found this. Hopefully not the biggest of the year, or the last, but I am on the board and tied with my dad now. Tried to get the dog to notice it on the ground (he almost stepped on it) but I had to pick it up and ask him to "FIND THE SHED" This photo is just before he stole it out of my hand.....
Congrats on the find Wiaxle. I'm about up to 12.5 hours with nothing yet. Getting kinda late into Jan for me to be without 1 at least. But I've been known to go 50 hours between sheds only to find 10 in my next 5 hours of looking. It comes and it goes. But I'm seeing some really great bucks. Congrats again.. now you and TJF (tim) are both kicking my butt.
Congrats wiaxle!! I got hooked on shed hunting last year. Can't wait to get out for the first time and explore the woods. Thanks for sharing!!
Congrats on that first shed. We've gotten several bucks on the trail cams that have shed so I'm going to make my first trip tomorrow, despite the cold weather!
