Was out in JoDaviess county with Dukemichaels this weekend. Shot my first deer of the season at 7:10am. I wasn't going to shoot little button bucks this year, but alas I lied. I came close the previous two days and had deer nearby,bow in hand,release clipped on and ready. The buck and the does never presented a shot, but I was a nervous wreck nevertheless. Wouldn't have been able to draw my bow! I know, what a wimp! Anyway, when this litle nubbin came by on my last day I figured I'd try to get the monkey off my back.He was quartering away hard and unfortunately I gut shot him, but we recovered him 3 hours later. He didn't go far and didn't last long. Next tyime I'll shoot something I can really be proud of. Pictures to follow, as soon as Duke gets em to me.
