Well I Bought myself a compound bow this summer and practised all summer so i could hunt this fall . The land we have a few other hunters hunt as well so I didnt hang stands since i dont want them stolen! and dad does not want me using a climber unless he is with me so i usually hunt from the ground!! I have had deer close but was not able to draw back my bow without getting busted so i just waited. The other night I was hunting about 20 yrds to the side of a good trail and it was a rainy night so i knew i wouldnt hear them coming so i tried to keep my eyes moving all the time at about 6.00 i heard a twig snap to my right i glanced over and there were 2 deer heading my way they were not on the trail so i was not able to see them coming! They were at about 15 yrds!! I drew back my bow and almost took the shot but they were moving so i waited when she was infront of my tree i knew she couldnt see me so i moved my bow infront of me at full draw and waited for her to step out! she stepped out at 8 yrds and i stopped her but there were about three small twigs covering her vitals she was starting to get nervous so i aimed between the twigs and let the arrow fly!! It was a perfect shot!! smashed threw her chest and out the other shoulder blade!! she went about 50 yrds and piled up!! Its not my 1st deer but it is my 1st with a compound bow! I have a picture of the doe but its not the best picture! i wasnt able to get a picture of her out in the woods so i took one of her hanging infront of the shop!! It was a fun hunt! Thanks Galen
