1. the contestants don't have to retrieve arrows, that's done by staff; 2. the 11 ring gets 2 minute deduction any other part of the scoring area is no deduction, outside the scoring area is 5 minutes added; 3. I'd like to meet the person who can run the course in 15 minutes, The first half of the course is extremely hilly; 4. My neighbor, who runs in 1/2 marathons ran the course in the fall without having to carry a bow and came in 25 minutes later winded. 5. It's easy to sit back in an armchair and analyze something without putting up.
I'd be interested if I didn't live on the East Coast. May I ask, how did you come up with that scoring?
Oh Jeff is a talker alright, you think his post count here is impressive? :d Nothing but the honest truth though.
Looks like a great competation and a great cause!! I am confused a little on the scoring though.... On the webpage it lists that "The Tuff Bow Competition will utilize standard IBO scoring (11,10,8,5,0)." But then it's mentioned in the thread that the only deduction of time for shooting will be the 11 ring? So in Theory, if someone runs & shoots the course in say 30 minutes and hits all 10's, would loose to someone that runs the course in 29 minutes 59 seconds but shoots all 8's & 5's? I must not be understanding the scoring?

Well, out of all the emails I received, not one entry and no one showed. Sunday I got several calls asking when next year's event will be. I'll give it one more shot next year and if still a no go, give up on the idea. I'm going for June 12th and 13th, 2010. Now, all I have to do is sit back and see how many other events pop up for that weekend.
