Guys and gals - the 1st Annual Bowhunting.com Get Together is coming up pretty quick! I apologize for not getting this posted up sooner, but we've been working our butts off lately and simply haven't had much time. You can either forgive me or beat me up at the G2G, whichever makes you happier is fine by me as long as you show up. :D

Fergus and Hank (in da woods/kitchen) were kind enough to put together a preliminary schedule of events for the day which we are going to continue working on in the near future to nail down some of the games/events that will be held throughout the day. Everyone owes these two guys a big thank you for the work they've already put into this, and for the work I'm sure they will continue to put in over the next two months. You guys are awesome, and we'll have something special for you both at the G2G!

For those that are unaware, the G2G will be held at the same place it's been the past several years.
    Coon Creek Hunt Club
    11050 Slough Road
    Garden Prairie, IL 61038

Camping accomodations are located within a short drive of the club at the following location.
    Paradise Springs Camping Resort
    11122 Station St
    Garden Prairie, IL 61038
    (877)GO-CAMP-1
    http://www.paradiservpark.com/

The event is open to anyone who wants to attend so bring your family, friends, enemies, relatives, pets, hitchhikers, and anyone who wants to come hang out with a bunch of pretty cool bowhunters. :D

Here is the preliminary schedule for the day along with a few possible events. As we figure out the exact details of each event we'll discuss and post them in this thread.

7:00 to 8:30 am: Breakfast at local diner (you guys are on your own for organizing this)

    8:30 to 9:30am: Meet-n-Greet; hand out 09 gtg T-shirts

IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING FOR SURE, PLEASE PM ME YOUR NAME AND SHIRT SIZE SO I CAN MAKE SURE I HAVE A SHIRT FOR YOU. IF YOU DON'T LET ME KNOW YOU'RE COMING, WE MAY NOT HAVE A SHIRT FOR YOU!

    9:30 to 10:00: Practice shoot

10:00 am to Noon: Events/Shooting Games

    - 5 card Poker shoot
    - Balloon shoot
    - 3-d course
    - long distance accuracy shoot
    - exploding target shoot

We're open for suggestions/recommendations here if you guys have any so speak up. Let's get some good games so we can get some smack talk going. I'm hoping to do a Bionic Buck challenge if we can get a target put together.

NOON to 1:00 - Lunch will be $10 per person to cover the cost of food being catered in. Italian beef, mostaccioli, potato salad, chips, cookies, etc.

1:00 to 4:00 pm - Finish shooting games, general shooting, etc.

4:00 to 5:00 pm - Tally up points for games, present prizes, raffle, etc.

5:00 pm - Dinner. We will have a grill or two on site so bring food if you want to grill out. We'll have some burgers and dogs on hand too. BYOB if you want any.

6:00pm to dark - General shooting, watch hunting videos (see me miss in HD!), hang out in clubhouse, etc.

Dark to ??? - Bonfire, hang out at club, socialize, eat, drink, and be merry!

If anyone has any questions, concerns, comments, etc post them here, PM me, or email me and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.

So what, not a single person is coming? I guess that will save us some money on t-shirts anyways.

I will be there, XXL for me. MECHDOC is also coming but he hasn't had time to post because he is pimpin his pop up camper for the event. Think he wears an XL-XXL shirt.

If you need any additional help for the setup let me know, I am off Wed-Sat that week and can lend a hand if needed.

Size XL. I'm definitely doing this one. Will book my flight this week. I need to connect with someone to split a camp site if possible........anyone down?

Will be flying into Midway, and getting a rental car to drive in.

Glad to hear you're coming, Matt!

For anyone else who needs to fly in, Chicago-Rockford is actually the closest airport. www.flyrfd.com

You know I'm not gonna miss it... XL for me too. Matt, try to fly in to O'Hare if you can (airfare is generally cheaper as well). I've been there done that and Midway IS NOT the way to go (unless you have to fly Southwest). If you do, you might want to bring your AR.:uzi: I'm making arrangements with some guys to pick me up at O'Hare... we should be able to work something out.

    This should be fantastic! :D:

I got free tickets through SW from my work travel last year, and as much as I hate Midway........I'm a sucker for free stuff. I know it's a drive from Midway, but I'll only have to pay for a rental car this way.

Let me know what everyone is doing for a campsite. If there is room for me at someone elses spot or if everyone is getting their own, I'm not sure.......

I'd love to make it but I don't think I will be able to this year. The family has had a vacation planned for the week before and I won't be getting home until Saturday. :bash: I will be planning in advance for next year though.
