There are other movies from the 80's that I learned to appreciate in the early 90's when I was a little older as well...

    Breakfast Club
    Dead Poets Society
    Stand by Me
    Rain Man etc...

I'm not sure these are all from the 80's but they at least remind me of that era.

Let's see during the 80s as a kid (I was only 10 when the 80s ended) I liked the movies:

    The Empire Strikes Back
    E.T.
    The Karate Kid
    The Neverending Story
    The Goonies
    Pee-wee's Big Adventure
    Flight of the Navigator
    Ghostbusters
    Labyrinth
    Masters of the Universe
    The Princess Bride
    Big Top Pee-wee
    The Land Before Time
    Willow
    Who Framed Roger Rabbit
    Honey, I Shrunk the Kids

Since I've gotten older I have come to like because my parents wouldn't let me watch them as a kid

    Tron
    Terminator
    Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Blade Runner
    Airplane!
    The Shining
    Full Metal Jacket
    The Untouchables
    Die Hard
    Rain Man
    Bull Durham
    Caddyshack
    Ferris Bueller's Day Off
    Scarface

I'm sure there are more that I can't think of right now.

Most of the good ones were already covered, but Gremlins and The Lost Boys were 2 of my favs as a kid. I also liked Rad, but I haven't seen it in 20+ years...
