So, attention it is. Okay. By the way, we took 22 does off my property last year. But, everybody knows that we bow hunters are only in it for the big bucks, or NOT. lol I see a lot more does harvested so far than bucks on this site. Maybe your preconceived notions are more dillusional than I first thought. Or, maybe you just like to argue. At any rate, I think most of us are growing tired of this.
OK Back on track,,not sure what happened in your situation! The last three Deer I have shot 12-17 yards have all been hard 1/4 away. the first was shot at 12 (im up high) walking dead away. I intentionally placed it just left of back bone right between shoulders and back just a bit. arrow stuck in brisket. The next was a very hard 1/4 to the right at 17 yards. placed it behind shoulder and a bit high. arrow exited in arm pit of opposite front shoulder. third was very hard 1/4 away, dam near straight away at 17 yards. Im up high again, placed it left of spine and high. it came out smack dab in middle of front legs just under brisket. none of the deer made it more that 50 yards. I was using expandables on all. Key is to visulize where the lungs are and not hit to far back.
love it although I would also loveto see a troll sitting on the edge of a bridge getting kicked off by a passing hunter
Find something that is niche. I call it like I see it, and you sound like you don't get laid much. Why would I say this? Because your friends are all getting married and you are looking for a hobby. This all ties together with finding a hobby that is specific to a very small niche. Choose something like night kiting or writing Fear Factor fan-fiction. This will guarantee that all the people with the same hobby also don't get laid. Once you become established on the message boards or in the meetings held in church basements, you can start to make your move. Here is your chance to be awkwardly intimate with all members of your preferred gender. Don't worry about hurting feelings and uneasy tension. When you have worked your way through the last naive person, simply announce you are leaving the world of said hobby. Remember, they are there because they love their hobby more than human contact, so you're doing them a real solid. Next, Inform others about how great your current hobby is. Even if your new found time waster is boring you to tears, lie. Tell everyone that your activities are unsurpassed by any other choice of time passing. Go so far as to create a Twitter Account to remind people continually how much fun you're having. This works well to distract questions about your real life. Wouldn't it be much nicer to have someone ask about your HAM radio rather than question if it's healthy for you to have another slice of ice-cream cake with such severe diabetes? You can also use your hobby to get out of work! Next time you plan on hitting the state-line casino/strip-club/buffet, just tell your boss you have a convention for you hobby. Who can blame you for taking a little personal time to chase your passion. At least that's what your boss will think. I hope these pointers come in useful when you choose a new hobby. Lord knows I'm looking for more options as I near the end of "working the circuit" of all yarn-based crafts. Those ladies are a bit more wild under the afghan. Sincerely, Every ethical hunter in the world.
CALEB! get in on this, love these arguments and if Salbo wants to take the shot let him, I wouldn't. But its not my property, my deer, or my problem. I'm sure him taking this shot has no affect on my hunting but seriously Salbo, you shouldn't because its irresponsible as a hunter and gives us a bad name with bad shots.
One thing I don't understand: We are all sheep because we think the shot in question is a very low percentage shot and would not take. But, if we all agreed that it was a good shot and that we would take it, we would still be sheep. I guess we would be different sheep, maybe dumbass, low percentage shot taking sheep, but, sheep none the less. I just think I don't want to be a head shooting, full frontal shooting, walking away spine shooting, dumbass sheep. I would rather be a high percentage kill shot shooting sheep. Just because a shot has a chance at killing a deer does not make it a good shot to take. It may take more self discipline but why not take a shot that has the best chance at killing the deer quickly and humanely.
Bruce, THIS is pure GENIUS! I would guess that even Salbo may be able to understand this logic. Fletch (a high percentage kill shot sheep)
Hilarious . Great thread , I get the feeling Salvo was sent to test the water , cuz no way is anybody that Dumb
