11-5-10 i shot a 14 point buck 30 yards in the afternoon i went to check the kill spot found my arrow broken with hair on it. There was no blood trail. So i went and checked on the path that it ran. My bros were to lazy to help me look for my buck they said i suck and i probably didnt even hit it . So the next morning we heard some people hunting pheasent. Heard them yelling and talking about a deer they found. Turns out it was my deer and they stole it illegally no tag . we went to check 100 yards from my spot where we heard them. As we approached the violators they drove there car right up to the deer and speed off. Thats messed up i wish i would have tooken there plates. Dont hunt with lazy peeps and dont do rookie mistakes . lessons learned

Sounds like a lot of people in your area, and in your hunting group need to gain a lot more respect for deer and hunting. I could care less if people in my group wouldn't help me find a deer, I wouldn't leave until I found enough proof that the deer is still living or that he is dead and I'm eating him.

That is to funny but sad for you! I do feel sad for you. The reason I find it funny is that now I am not the only one in that boat! My first ever buck I shot ran towards the road and died not but 20 yards from the road. I could not see where he died. I waited for about 40 minutes after I shot him and then decided it was good to track him. I got down and started following a really nice blood trail. It went up to the edge of the timber so when I got to the field I did not see anything but a truck driving on the road. As I am following the blood I got to the road and a huge blood spot was 20 yards from the road. I could see where the deer was dragged to the road and a steaming gut pile was in the ditch! Not really happy but can now laugh on it since it was years ago! I will never forget it that is for sure! Sorry for your luck and you deer was a lot bigger than my 8 that was taken. That was my first buck I ever shot so it meant something to me. So now I have a 5 point buck on the wall as my first ever buck! LOL

First welcome to the forum and second Why the hell weren't you out there looking for it? I can't believe everyone is dancing around the fact that you are lazy too.Why the hell would you not put every effort into finding that buck then when you do you forget to get the licence plate of the guy taking it. You need to read the forum and learn some more about hunting before you go out in the woods.

Sorry for the rant but you need to learn more before you sit again.

woodman no need to apologize. I was hinting towards the same thing.

In all reality, you can't overly blame the pheasant hunters for taking the deer either. Who knows, they might have a tag to put on the deer and at least they are willing to deal with the deer before the meat spoils. If you guys were out there and could hear the pheasant hunters talking about a deer they found, you can bet that they would have been able to hear you if you would have yelled at them to get their attention. You obviously have no guilt towards the situation. Good on the pheasant hunters for making sure your deer doesn't go to waste. You should find their license plate and track them down and give them a case of beer.

That sucks my bro Isiman/oh was nice enough to come up and look for my buck, i was laying on the ground holding my shotgun i couldn't move. He tryed to sneak behind me after i walked past his bedding area....bang bang bang 3 yards i shot him in the neck and bottom of the chest i couldnt believe what i had done. I shot the biggest buck anyone in the area has seen he grossed 199" non-typical. He was a true giant 14 point. We had been after him 3 years if i were you i would get some hunting buddies and hunt that area.
