Well I've been doing a little bit of playing with my setup (current in sig).
The other day I ran by and grabbed a set of 125 grain field points.
I didn't have my bow with me so I couldn't compare speeds.

So I got home and started shooting. I was very surprised that I didn't have to adjust my sight vertically. They did feel like the impact was harder, but that could have just been me.

Well I was shooting and noticed you could see the arrow physically sideways in flight. So I went over to my paper and shot a couple through. By the time I got the arrow to fly straight, there was interefence with my cable.

However, and I may start another thread unless someone in here has the same issue, but with my setup below, the tiny little blazer vane is about 2-3mm from my cable, too close for comfort but never had a problem actually contacting. Anyone else?

Your were only losing approx. 5fps over your 100 grain heads, thus explaining the similar POI. Adding the extra weight up front would have increased your FOC, which in turn would have increased stored energy and the power of the impact.

The reason the arrow was "kicking" is because adding the 125 head weakened your spine. The lighter you go up front the stiffer the spine.

As for the cable clearance issue. It could be a spine issue with your arrows. However, in my experience Mathews typically line up just inside of center shot.

What model Blue Streaks are you shooting? If your shooting the 150 or 250 you could trying bumping up to the 350. That would stiffen up the spine.

I'm thinking about going to 125 grain heads too so this information definately helps.

Eric, I am using the 350s.

Would the issue be the spine too weak, or what about too much FOC?

I just can't this to tune without hitting the cable.

If you have room you could also cut a little off your arrow, that would stiffen the spine as well...sometimes just an 1/8" here and a little off the draw weight and bam, you are right back in the chips...

Alot of guys do not use their draw weight as a legitimate tuning tool, but it really can help.

PS...I am far from a tuning guru, so take my advice with a grain of salt, alot better guys to listen to than me.

Thanks for the input Micheal. I know what you're saying about draw weight for tuning. I'd still like to keep this bow at it's max. Pulling the weight isn't any problem at all. Wish they made 80 pound limbs for the z7x.
I just wonder if there isn't something I'm missing to make my tolerances so tight.

    Chris,

How long are your arrows. Like Micheal stated that could be the problem right there. I have a 28 inch draw, therefore my arrows are 28 inches long. I never seem to have tuning problems. Nothing I can't fix with rest adjustments. That Blue Streak in the 350 has a fairly stiff spine already.

28 draw and 28 arrow as well.
What vanes do you use and how close are they to your cable?

I just shoot the blazers that come fletched on the Maxima's. I have never really looked at how close they are to the cable. I just know that I don't have clearance issues. I will look tonight and try to get an idea for you.

I checked yesterday and my vanes are right at a quarter inch from the cable. They are close, but my rig is shooting fine and I'm not too worried about it. As long as its shooting straight and grouping good I wouldn't think too much into it either. Hope this helps a little Chris.

Yup, Thanks Eric. Mine is sligthly closer than yours but you have the z7 and mine is the xtreme so it may be a little tighter.
I haven't shot it for a week. It's completely ridiculous. Got started on a project for my girlfriend's mom and haven't gotten a chance.
