I have used 125 gr broadheads since day one (several decades ago). A lot of newer broadheads are available in 100 gr but not 125's. I'm old school - still use my 2514 feathered aluminum shafts (I have a "lifetime" supply), and would like to stick with 125's. Any suggestions on what I can do to add weight to the 100 gr heads or should I just suck it up? Thanks, fsh
Give 3 rivers archery a call and they should be able to hook you up with brass inserts for those shafts.
What broadheads are you wanting? A 125 shouldn’t be that hard to find. I started with the 125 Thunderhead years ago. Last year I went 100 ViperTricks, this year 100 Iron Will.
There are weights that screw in to the back of the inserts. Each brand has their own weight, but all inserts take the same thread field point or broad head, what ever that is... maybe you can find some weights to screw in the back of your inserts.
I called 3 Rivers - they suggested I try ebay. I found what I needed on ebay, thanks for the replies guys... -fsh
I started out years ago shooting 125. where I grew up in Kansas all the old timers shot 125 so I did to. I got stationed in the southeast and shifted to 100. I have taken deer, hogs and predators. no issues. I saw some brass weights on Ebay a while back.
