use the online calculators to figure your FOC and see which fits your arrow better. They both might be fine. I shoot 100 gr for deer/bear/antelope and 125 for elk/hog, but probably would be fine if i just shot either weight. Gold tips website has the calculators, or if you have an iphone/ipad there is an APP called archery pal that has the calculators
FOC is all the rage right now but all the FOC in the world isn't going to help you if your not shooting a correctly spines arrow. The biggest effect the weight of the broadhead as is it's effect on spine...the heavier it is the more it will weaken the spine. Make sure your choosing the correct spine taking into account your preferred BH weight.
True a heavy head will weaken dynamic spine. However, you would need to be on the extreme weak side of spine for it to make your spine too weak to shoot. In most cases, 100 or 125 will make little difference to spine. You get into the 200 gr up front and it becomes more of an issue to worry about. I would suggest a 125 if someone's foc is dropping below 10% with a 100 gr. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Can you shoot a heavier arrow than what you are supposed to shoot. I shoot carbon express pile drivers pass thru. My draw is 26" and at 57lb. I shoot the 250's. Can I shoot the 350's?
Arrow weight has little to do with spine. Choose the correct spine range for your bow. Different arrows come in different weights. Arrow Spine Chart by Deflection, Carbon Arrows All Brands - Hunter's Friend
I have shot deer with bigger diameter broad heads and smaller diameter broad heads and can't tell any difference in the blood trail or the difference they travel either.
I went to 125 to help quiet down my bow. Cant tell a difference in shooting either. Only difference I can tell is the noise and the penetration increase quite a bit.
