Have a hog hunt coming up with Archery Outfitters and they recommend 125gr. broadheads. Can I change out my 100gr with 125gr using the same arrows?
If so would it make any difference on my 30yd shots?

    Thanks

If your setup is tuned real well and not on the weak spine borderline you can probably change without any problem. You may have to re-adjust your sight, especially at 30 yds. If you are borderline it will probably manifest in opened up groups and somewhat inconsistant accuracy.

    Thanks. I'm shooting the M6 at 70# with a 350gr arrow. I thinks it's a little over spined.

This is one I do have experience with so may I chime in???

My brother did this at the beginning of last season. He tuned his brand new bow with 100gr field points out to 40yd. He screwed in 125gr broadheads. Only shot out to 20yd. he shoots at a deer at 40yd and it hits way low. Never found the deer. Although there were many, many mistakes, one was the choice to use the 125's. We tested it at 40yd and it hit way low. Once again, did great out to 20yd. Around 25yd it was hitting low and got worse.

I would say the safe bet would be to stay with 100's unless you have time to adjust if needed.

    Interesting.
I have two bows now, a M6 and an MR7. Maybe I should site the M6 with 125gr for hog and a Red Stag hunt I'm leaving for next month and set the MR7 for 100gr for deer and turkey. Don't know how easy it is to switch back and forth from bows.

Things that make you go Hmmmmm:)

Or just stick with a 125 grain tip weight. Increases your arrow FOC % and overall weight and that would be a good thing.

And I believe Hoyt's can launch any weight arrow approximately 100 fps faster than any other mani right...oh wait no they're the ones that can get hit with an atomic bomb and still shoot 4 inch groupings..... LOL I kid I kid.

I'd listen to Bruce OP...dude is a master mind with arrows!

I shot a lot of hogs with 100 gr heads. I wouldn't change to 125.

Hey Andrew, I made the switch from 100 to 125 over christmas break. However, I also went from vanes to quickfletch. Yes I did have to adjust my sight, however all the tuning remained basically the same (since weight was added to rear as well). I'm very happy with the change, I went from a 370 to 410 grains. The arrows are maxima blue streak 350s cut to 27.75.

I replace my fletches with quickfletches when one of mine comes off. Why would the fletches matter though?
