Some of you may remember me posting about a job situation about 9-10 months ago. I decided to forego an almost guaranteed job promotion at work to apply for the local police department. It is something I had always wanted to do. Many of you guys gave me great advice and I really appreciate it. Well, the process that I started last September finally came to an end today. I AM IN! Shook the Chief's hand and signed on the dotted line to become a Prince William County, VA police officer. The county is growing and it looks like we will have 500,000 people in the county within 7-8 years, plus it seems we are the MS-13 capital of the east coast! Go us. lol. Taking two weeks off work beginning Friday to get my affairs in order before I enter the academy on July 28th. Thanks again guys. Brett
Thank you guys. I had to get back to my workout roots, which was not easy at 36. This is my third career switch and I believe I finally found one that will be my final career.
The Prince William County police force should be honored to have you in their ranks. Adding you just increased their stature in my eyes. I grew up in that county (60's, early 70's). Congratulations Brett, you will make an excellent officer.
Congrats!!! ...and anything incriminating that I might have said or written was purely hypothetical of course. :D
Christine. Thank you Bruce, those were some kind words. I will have my work cut out for me as I will have to keep up with the youngsters!
Does this mean I can use your name to get out of a ticket the next time I pass through. LOL Good luck.... and as the used to say on Hill Street Blues.... be careful out there.
LOL, Chris! :D Brett... congratulations; I know how hard you've worked for this!! You've turned yourself into a 20-something year old again :D You deserve it!
