Can't wait to finally watch some college football again! The season is right around the corner and I am anxious to get things under way. I'm exited to watch the Gators bring in a new era, and hope Johnny Brantley has a strong year. It puzzles me how many "experts" are picking Florida to 7-5 or 8-4. I rarely take off my Orange and Blue glasses, but there is talent at every position on this team, and this year we'll have a coaching staff that isn't "checked out." I think 9-3 or possible 10-2 is realistic for this Florida team.

What are you thoughts / predictions for your team? (I know we had this thread a while back, but it's college football, so why not?)

Phillip buddy, this link is for you. Gotta love the Vols.

Best time of the year is almost upon us.

    Cody,

Do you really see enough in the Gators to improve on last season? Come away from LSU, Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, and FSU with only 2 or 3 losses? You would know better than me, so I ask.

Optimistically, I see them coming out of those games with 2 losses. Those losses being LSU and South Carolina.

Realistically, they probably lose 3 of those games. Any of those games are toss ups, but I think they lose at LSU, beat Alabama at home, lose on the road to USCe, and unfortunately, I think they lose to Georgia this year. They also play Auburn this year, but I'm not worried about them at the moment. I am not sold at all on FSU being "back."

It's also very possible that they lose 4 games this year, assuming they go 2-4 against the 6 teams I mentioned above and Florida fans shouldn't at all be disappointed with that in their first year. The fact is that last year Florida should have beat LSU and MSU, making them a 10-3 team. The Gators were so dysfunctional last year their entire season was a train wreck, yet they managed to win 8 games, while letting let two slip away at home.

It all comes down to how well Johnny B Bad plays in the new system. Florida's defense, while young, is still very talented and athletic and will earn Florida any of those victories they get against those tough teams. The offense remains to be seen. We'll find out if Brantley just can't play quarterback, and if the offense struggles, they'll lose 4 games. If Weis has "fixed" Brantley and Brantley can get the ball to Florida's speed guys (Florida is still very, very fast) then they probably lose 3. If Brantley turns out to be who everyone thought he was and can lead a team and win a game for his team, then they may only lose two. As long as the offense doesn't lose them any games, I think they can win 9 games during the regular season and earn their 10th win in a January bowl game.

Ahhh.... Yes, college football is almost here.

OSU kicks butt in the ineligible bowl against Miami.... and then tears through Big10 play, almost unscathed. They take a loss to either Nebraska or Wisconsin (better not be them damn badgers) and wins the Big Championship and goes to the Rose Bowl.

Of course, they win the Rose Bowl. What kind of homer would pick against their own team?

Another tidbit worth mentioning... tOSU beats UM by 21+ points as Brady Hoke cries "but, but, but... We're Michigan" all the way back home to Anus Arbor.

OSU better hope Uncle Rico comes out of retirement. That would be their best QB option right now. And who is their coach again? They do have one, don't they?

Cody, you really picking a loss to Georgia but a win against Bama...I am obviously a homer, but Georgia...really. I think Bama is being labeled by too many "experts" as the mythical NC, and I hate that. I think we go 10 - 2 and play in the SEC champ against...??? We lost 4 first round picks, and that is almost impossible to replace, and we have not 1 but possibly 2 new QB's in AJ Mcarron and Phillip Simms. Our D was 1 or 2nd in pretty much all catergories last year, and that was supposed to be a rebuilding year on D...exciting to say the least.

Hmmm... Untested and unproven at 0-0? Or a proven loser like Hoke.... 47-51.

I'll take what's behind door number one.

I just have a good feeling about Alabama and a bad feeling about UGA. That's really about it. I hate Georgia more than any school and wouldn't feel bad at all if they never won another football game ever, but I just have a sick feeling about this year's game.

I think that if a team beats Florida this year, it will be through the air because UF's secondary is so young and inexperienced and Aaron Murray from UGA is darn good. You guys will bring in a first year QB whoever is the starter for what will likely be a night game at The Swamp. It will be Florida's first test too, but I'll take Florida at home at night against a first year QB any day. Richardson is a beast no doubt, but Florida's front 7 should be scary good this year, and I think we slow down Richardson enough and pressure the quarterback enough to win.

I just hope y'all beat the snot out of Auburn this year. I'm not sold on Chizik.

Hey, I did not support that. But you can see how much power the rivalry has. It cost Cooper and Carr their jobs.

GFY a High School mate of mine went to Wisconsin and played. He made it into the NFL until the last cut of the Denver Broncos! His name would be Carlos Fowler. Do you know him from watching?
