Some guys just can't stop themselves..... If you don't mean to come off as a complete jack wagon, I would suggest you re-read everything you write before you hit the post button because it's pretty much all laced with arrogance, pretentiousness and condescension. I wasn't personally attacking you, just pointing out how your statement sounded when read by someone other than you, but now I can obviously see you can't help yourself.

At no time did I take your comments as a personal attack. In fact it never crossed my mind. There is no need to get so overly emotional over such a simple sharing of opinions. Its really ok guys. We all go about using cams in a manner that fits our situation. I fail to see the need to try to analyze the "intent" or the passion for wanting to read between the lines of what were very simple terms but this is the off season. :D

There wasn't any need to "read between the lines" or divining intent, you said exactly what you meant.

You are correct. To do otherwise would be silly.

Im assuming the emotional psycho-analysis of the “intent” of the comments has run its course, I was pleased with the amount of sign I saw when placing the cams and the stands but was disappointed with the poorly developed farm crops and the current drought but based on sign and the mild winter, the deer herd seems to have survived just fine. Now if the damn bears will stop trying to knock my camera off the trees, all will be well. Bears (and cattle) are the main reason for the heavy duty welded steel boxes I make, chains and master locks keep them in place but I still find them twisted and turned and slid all over the place. Cattle want to head butt cams for some reason.

So running your cams for that duration and on video mode do you ever end up overwriting and losing data? I suppose, depending on location, a 32gb card could go that long..... maybe..

Sure has, thing about trolls is that they're generally too shallow to warrant more than a few seconds of emotional psycho-analysis. I knew your game from the second post.

I guess you behaving yourself just couldn't last could it. That's okay, acting like that will land you in the same place you always land. Enjoy your playtime while you can.

No problems so far. They are set for 30 or 60 second videos and even 8 GB cards don't fill up. These are only 3 or 5 MP cams.

Sounds like you shouldn't be worried about spooking/educating deer as there can't be many there....I rarely run video mode just because my cards fill up so dang fast!

I set up in tighter quarters and thick spots hoping to get footage of older deer that don't care to travel in more open areas that the bulk of the younger deer travel but I do have a few cams in more open areas. I haven't filled an 8 gb card yet but dont know if that is good or bad or what the correct number of deer is "enough". The population has been down of late which has been good for the farmers and the local environment. Whether there be a single mature deer or dozens of them, I still favor my approach for lower impact monitoring of them.

LOL at "bowhunting sets" If I ever create any, I will post pics. Wait here while I get them. Don't do anywhere.;)

I tend to put in a “herd” or “flock” of stands. "sets" are for the newer/younger hunters just getting into the sport.

I'm 38, I've been bow hunting since I was 14. Honestly never put to much thought into what it was called until the other thread popped up. I'm definitely not trying to be "hip" and calling it what the latest lingo is on TV, hell the only hunting shows I can tolerate is Deer & deer hunting TV, and Bowhunt or Die.
