Headed up to my place in the morning, gonna walk around there a bit to check things out and then head to the Public Ground I want to check out for next season. I have about 2000 acres of walk in hunting 15 minutes from my farm. It's some rough river bluff country that I know holds some good deer. So I'm going to see if I can find any sheds and some good ambush spots.

Well guys, I have 3 in hand and one I had to leave lay (not allowed to remove bone for IL State Parks).

I found 3 on my place today before heading for the public ground.
    In my clover plot.

Next to a bed by a stump.

Knocked off crawling under a blowdown.

I think these 2 must be brothers.

    All 3 together

Then I found this on in the park.

Good job John. I drove down to the military base I hunt, but they had closed the base to scouting. I was really bummed. I haven't been able to scout for over a month due to the snow. I am going crazy. Well, just to get out in the woods I walked a cool strip of woods in my neighborhood. I found a ton of doe beds and one lone buck bed( I believe). I believe it may be a of solid 6-7 pointer I saw this year. He is going to be a heck of nice 3.5 year old buck this year. I hope he wanders down my 40 yards of creek property. :)

No luck at all so far. The snow didn't help the situation, I think I'm going to wait for the thaw and see what I can come up after that.

Well guys, I hope to head out Friday. We have some rain and expect to encounter some overnight temps above freezing here in the next few days, so I expect a good snow melt.

Went out today. Found a small 2 pointer and a matched set 5x5. I will post pics tomorrow. I believe that puts me at 9 for the season.

Nice finds! The closest I have found my match set is around a foot. I have never found them on top of each other. That is great!

The snow has finally melted 95% of the way. I am going to see if the place I hunt is open for me to scout tomorrow. If it is I will be out there for many hours soaking up the outdoors. GOOD luck guys.

Nice bones guys, the snow is finally melting enough this week for me to get back to some other properties this weekend. Hopefully I can come up with some.

I haven't had a lot of time, we just closed on our first home this morning and its been crazy the last few weeks. Hopefully I can find some time to get out in the next couple of weeks before everything starts to green up.

Ok it is official, I suck at shed hunting. I walked at least 5 miles again yesterday and came up empty handed once again. I'll take any advise you guys have.
