    BONE JUMPERS!

I am heading out tomorrow afternoon to do some shed hunting in a thicker area. After talking with Shed he suggested certain areas where I hunt to focus my efforts. I will be covering less ground tomorrow but with more focus.

Well guys I found a 4 point shed today. I think it is a year old. But anyhow...my first shed while shed hunting ever! BOOM. I will post up the pic when I get home from picking up my kids!

I was pumped! After I found that shed I ran up a hill close to a no hunting zone on base--you know the kind of no hunting zone where they launch bombs....yeah that kind. :) On top of that hill was a thick mess full of large rubs and I jumped 3 bedded deer. Hmmmm...speed scouting at its finest?

Matched up the shed I found about 2 weeks ago today. Found it about 300 yards from the first one laying in a bed.

    Brings my total to 2.

How in the heck do you find all those beds?! I have been walking and scouting my tail off the last few weeks and have only found two.

You'll get better the more you walk. Things will begin to stick out that you never noticed before VS. You're going to become a better woodsman.. it goes without saying.

As for my latest shed.. I live in the midwest you know.. we have snow on the ground.. which is not uncommon for January.:)

Taking my son out tomorrow afternoon to shed hunt. He is excited, but I don't think his little 5 year old legs will take him too far. We will just slow down and focus on some areas I think may hold some sheds. :)

Well my son and I worked hard today but couldn't find any sheds. I did find one old homestead area on the end of a ridge. It looked like a fantastic place for a buck to get into and bed...it tied into terrain changes and some serious breaklines between the timber and big woods. I didn't have a lot of time to concentrate as my son was on full blast kid mode for 2 hours. He loved finding the rubs. I believe all in all I found 1 spot I might set up on next year based on our scouting today. Other than that I just had fun teaching him about the woods.

I found a nice one on my buddies land yesterday and 50 yards away he found the matching side. Makes my total 1!

Great work finding the bone guys. I haven't been out since the season closed last week. I helped put on a NWTF Banquet this weekend. I plan on going out next weekend shed and coyote hunting. Weather permitting. But all of the pics on the cams from last week still had all the bucks sporting both sides.
