I am going out into a place I scouted last winter after the season, yet have never hunted here. If there was a south/south-east wind, which one of my stand locations would you pick to intercept a buck cruising the downwind side of the beds? I know which one I am leaning toward.....and if you have any different ideas let me know. I am heading out in about 1 hour. Thanks guys. Brett
I like one but I'd actually think about setting up right on the number 1 and not the red dot. I'm not a real expert at these topo's though, trying to learn more about these.
Thanks for your input guys. I originally wanted to go with #2 but #3 keeps getting stronger in my mind. That tight drop off forces a buck to walk a little higher than normal, plus on the edge of the point he may feed a little before heading out to check....ahhhhh!
I hunted UP on number 3 today. Saw 4 does and a huge gobbler upwind of me. In area #1, a man was walking around "scouting" in jeans..he said he was getting ready for gun season. In area #2, I spotted another guys stand from a distance, so I moved into spot #3. I accomplished my mission, saw some does but no eager beaver bucks checking anything out. Hunting terrain in the am.
