Came close this morning. Was drawing back on a doe at 25 yards and my arrow squeaked on the rest. Well she didn’t like that and jumped out of range. Had a small 6 go by at 20 or so yards but he got the past. Legal but lucky if he was60” Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
May have another 50 tomorrow. It shot a doe tonight but arrow and blood didn’t look the greatest. I think liver and gut but looked a lot better than that when the lighted noc hit her. Wasn’t planning on going out today, but did end up getting an evening in. Saw 4 but nothing gave me a shot.
Made it out for the opener, 01Oct. 30 minutes after sunrise a beautiful 12 pointer trotted past. He was just out of range, and I’m glad was...kind of. If he was closer I would have sent an arrow, but I think he’s young and might need a couple years to be crazy big. Couple more does seen. Nothing shot. CAUTION* While decocking his crossbow my buddy had his left thumb sticking up: almost severed the top inch off and shattered the bone. He’ll be ok, no surgery, just going to let it heal.
