This is what I had on camera the other morning. Hopefully they show up Saturday! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Very nice!! I would be beside myself if I had to choose one if they all came in together. Good luck with that. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
And it worked!! They are some damn nice bucks right there. I have never even seen a deer like that in the woods. Maybe some day. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
So what’s everyone shooting ? I’ve got a Matthews Halon6. HHA sight, QAD rest Shooting gold tip kinetic hunter arrows with tac driver 2.75 vanes and muzzy trocar HB heads. Arrow weight around 510. I just bumped up arrow weight and changed heads last year because the season before I shoulder blasted a descent buck and didn’t get the penetration I needed to put him down. Turned into a long blood trail that just stopped. Frustrating!!im hoping that the new setup will help out if shot is off a touch. I’ve gotta say I’ve never seen carnage like the trocar HB put on my second die last year. Nasty!!! Blood everywhere. Dead within seconds and feet of where she stood when I shot her. I think I have pics. I’ll see if I can find them. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Pic with just the blood is where she stood when I shot her. She basically took one step stood there for a few seconds I saw her well up and cough. When she did blood cane out her mouth and both entrance and exit holes. Fell over rolled down the hill and done. I never saw anything like it.
Mathews Vertix, Trophy Ridge WB, spot Hogg Hogg father, maxima Red 250, and I shoot a couple different BH. Ramcats, bloodsport, rage Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I wish I would have waited another year to get a new bow. I love the way the halon shoots but it is very heavy. I believe the vertical is the next newest model. I would get murdered if I got another bow!! The one I had previously was a Matthews Q2 which was 17 years old when I finally replaced it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Be patient!! Try to stay calm!! It’s going to be hard to control yourself when you have that first shot opportunity arise. Experience goes a long way in being successful. Every time you get out you will learn something that will help you in future hunts. A little luck helps also !! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Old Matthews Swithback XD off eBay, Easton FMJ, Muzzy Trocar hybrid BH, Spot Hog 3 pin. Funny how things happen: not one bow hunt last year. vs. 2020 my busiest/craziest year, and I have probably unlimited hunting access on AWSOME land full of deer. Good safe hunts Y’all.
