What up fellas!! Scott”happy” checking in from Lancaster pa. Season can’t get here soon enough I still have a little over a month before the killing begins. Looking forward to interacting with the team and putting some animals on the ground. I’m gonna say up front that I’m not a trophy hunter. I get excited over almost anything that gives me an opportunity. I’m almost always good for some sort of antlers and a few does. Lucked out last year and shot my biggest to date but just so happened that he was the first buck to give me a shot. Got him on my third sit of the season. Have one I’ve been seeing pretty regularly that’s getting me pumped not a giant but a respectable 8. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Hello Happy! I’m Link, from northern part of Kentucky. Williamstown to be exact. I have two main farms I hunt. One is a lease of 130 acres, they other o just purchased 155 acres. I’m excited about the challenge of this contest and also figuring out and scouting the new farm. I know I’m good for a doe (unlimited tags in KY)! Trying some new things to try and harvest a buck this year. Hopefully it works out and I can add some points to our scorecard! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
My bad I’m an idiot! That’s why you are here to set us straight Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well we need to get a team list up and get everyone checked in so we can see if we need any alternates or not..
Well 3 out of 11 so far. Hopefully we get some more responses shortly!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well this team seems to have a slower start than some of the other ones I’ve been noticing. Just wanted to start off by giving everyone a little info on myself. I am a foreman for a residential construction company. I do mostly high end renovations some, lasting years. Good thing about that is that my employer is ok with me making up my own hours so if I can during archery season I generally work 6-2 with no lunch break which gets me in the woods in time for evening hunts without burning vacation. I am married with 2 children. Oldest is sophomore in college and youngest a senior in high school. I’ve been archery hunting since I was 12 and I’m about to turn 49 so feels like forever. I said before I’m not a trophy hunter. I shoot what gets me excited. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Must be nice to be able to hunt this early. I’ve been urged to start hunting in Maryland which is not far from my house anyway but I don’t want to push it and make things unpleasant at home I feel ok with getting out 3 nights a week plus saturdays during the 7 week season in pa. Its nice but its usually HOT! We go from Sept5-Jan 18th. Mid Oct to Late Nov is when I do most of my hunting.
I get out when I can, as much as I can from opening day until tags aren’t filled. I have 2 doe tags and a buck tag for Lancaster. I have another doe tag for northern pa that I save for hunting with the flintlock after Christmas. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Checking in. Harrison from Carlisle, SC. Our season starts September 15 where I am in the state. Got about 50 private acres to hunt and another 1000 in a club but it’s full of rifle hunters which hurts me some. I’m good for a doe usually and mostly let smaller bucks walk but a “shooter” here is an 80” 8 point. Got a few on camera so hopefully one will slip. Little about me, 24 and an engineer for a large power company. Have some vacation left that will give me a few week days to hunt Besides my normal 3 day weekends. Glad to be part of the team!
We get started here in KY this Saturday. Cannot wait to get out there. I work for a global plastic manufacturing company, I develop new colors of plastic that is used in about 70% of the products we touch. Roughly 85% of the automotive plastic is made by this company. I have 3 kids, freshman at UK, senior at university of Cincinnati and a 16 month old. Just sold my house and I’m about to start building a new one. Probably going to live with the in-laws for a couple months, so I won’t need any excuses to go hunt. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
