Ive always used muzzy and never had to do any tuning at all...and the new g5 strikers fly good too!Whats your favorite fixed blade of all time?

I was using Swhackers. That was the other half of the issue. Got lazy and didnt feel like fighting fixed blades so just went to them. Wont do that again lol. To me, using a good solid fixed blade is so much worth the extra prep that goes into it.

Yeah I pretty much wanted a rocket launcher for a bow when I bought this lol. That buck I told you about that I hit in MD and the guide gave up, it was with my old set up and I didnt get an exit side. The hit was a bit high so blood was so hard to find, cuz it had to drip all the way down the body and its a lot of fur to soak up blood before some hits the ground. And with no exit it cut my blood in half. So I decided then that my next bow wont have that issue lol. Highly doubt that any hit from 0-40 yards wouldnt pass through, except maybe if I hit both shoulders.

Im afraid of heights, so I dont hunt in wind like that lol. But if you can handle it and keep your shoots as close as possible, it might be worth a try. Also a good chance to do some still hunting, the wind covers your noise. My current set up is a Mathews MR6 set at 80lbs, 28.5" draw. Im shooting a 505g arrow at 295fps...its pretty sweet. And shoots great, no issue there. A lot of people try to say speed bows or short brace height bows arnt accurate, but its the best shooting set up I ever had.

Lol yeah I love to snowboard. Getting a bit older and way out of shape, can't do any crazy things anynore, but I do love it. But its expensive, maybe more expensive the bow hunting lol. Yeah I used to shoot a lot of techno hunt. Its a ton of fun for sure. My current set up they won't let me shoot it at any of the places around here. It's way to powerful. I game my back up bow to my best friend on the marines si can't even set that up just for techno. But it was worth giving away, he should get some good use out of it once he gets settled in some where.

Holly cow that head is tough! Nothing really new here bud. Season ended a while ago, cant afford to snowboard so life gets boring lol. Cant wait till spring to get fishing. Hows things been there? How much hunting do you still have?

Yeah muddy bottom is in OC. They seem real good. He's also gonna start siki deer hunts. I really hope to hunt there next year. I'm between jobs now so not sure what ill have for money and time off come fall. But if its possible I'm gonna try muddy out.

Was a place called BJ outfitters. Wasn't to good. $150 a day for just the hunt so not bad. We didnt see much in 4 days during the 3rd week of nov. I hit a buck a bit high, 110", guide tracked bout 300 yards, the trail went down a real steep hill and in one of the thickest thickets I ever seen and the guide turned to me and said well if he made it this far he's still alive. He was just to lazy to keep after it. I was so mad and he wouldn't let me keep going. We hunted there a few days later and there was vultures flying all over. I took a bit of a walk but couldn't find where they were going. My buddy shot a doe there also n seen one decent 130" but no shot. We seen 2 monsters the day before our hunt in a field next to a church...so the area is def good. I'm lookin into muddy bottom outfitters. A bit more money but includes everything. And seems like a much better place.

Yeah man that's the scary part of hunting this time of the year. The other down side is sometimes dragging a buck you'll break an antler off cuz they are lose. So what part of MD are you in? Hunted eastern shore last year at an outfitter...hoping to try a different outfitter down closer to ocean city next year.

Not to sure how its been. Cameras have been acting up. Only shooter buck I have on cam already shed one side so hes safe from me. I burnt myself out this season and not sure Ill go again. Only have like another week anyway. And Im a wuss and dont do the cold to well these days lol.

Yeah tricks are legit. I know a few guys that use em n a bunch of guys here. 4 blade heads make good holes and they make great 4 blade heads. Muzzys are bad to the bone also...but there is better. Can't beat their value though. Pretty sure ill either keep montecs or end up with slicks if I like them. And if I go on a hog or bear hunt ill be switching to a 2 blade head of some kind cuz they are better if they hit bone and all that. Figure ill have a guide that can help me track then so won't worry bout the color blind issue.

I was a kid...muzzys were a lot cheaper. Then I quit bowhunting fir a few years (couldn't get target panic under control) by the time I came back to the sport steel force was harder to find.

No I never heard of them...had to look them up to see what they were. Kinda look like the old steel forces I used to use. Bet they fly good and Im sure pennitration is great. Would bet the montecs would make a better blood trail but not by a ton. I was wanting to change to a 2 blade or something like that head, but worry bout the blood trails. Not sure if the bleeder blade is quite enough to open up a good hole. Though on a plus note, the steel force I used to shoot killed everything within 50 yards.

Yeah the pass throughs make a big difference. And trust me, anything with a 1" hole in it will bleed good lol. Shoot one into a plastic bucket filled with water...youll see!

The doe I shot with one only went about 40 yards. The buck I blew out his front shoulders and he dropped on the spot. Thought I spine shot him at first so put another arrow in him. So no clue how far he would have went haha. My buddy shot a 225lb dressed buck, one lung and liver hit, and that buck only made it 75 yards. Blood trail is as good as any other 3 blade. Very consistent as long as you hit em in the good area.

I love the Montecs. I didnt get anything yet this year and didnt use them last year. But 2010 I killed 2 with them. They are super durable and fly great. A buddy of mine has the same 3 for 4 seasons now and each head has at least 3 kills...they are that tough. I would be using the ones I used in 2010 but I switched from 100g to 125g so had to buy more. Dont known that I will change anytime soon...although I wanna give slicktricks a try during the off season and do consider 2 blade heads but my color blind eyes have a hard time with bloodtrails, so Im kinda scared of the 2 blade heads. p.s. sorry it took me so long to respond...didnt see the notification somehow.
