I went out on opening night. Saw a doe and fawn, but nothing other than that. Was out of town last weekend, and have a sick 2 yr old daughter this weekend. Might get out depending on how the little one feels.
We have a low pressure system coming thru tonight. it may get into the 40s with drizzle and a high of 65 tomorrow. Ill be in the tree all morning. Im stoked.
no luck for me... had a real good feeling about this morning, cool and clear.... then right at daylight the wind switched directions and blew at my back..I checked my phone weather app and it as slated to blow that the rest of the day, so i got out and scouted another little area where I can put a stand if this happens again. haven't seen a single deer. just got different trail cam (other one died) , so hopefully that'll help me even the odds.
No luck for me either. The season is slowly changing here. So maybe one more cool downs will get things started. Doe sightings are kinda random, no pattern at all. But Im still happy to get my tree therapy sessions in.
I saw a really nice buck yesterday, 4x5 probably in the low 130's. Unfortunately it was on the 12th green of the golf course I was playing after a friend of mine bumped him from the thicket he was bedded down in while my friend was looking for his ball. The buck ran right through the middle of the green, tore the hell out of it. I haven't been in the stand for a couple weeks, probably won't get back in until after we get a hard freeze and the crops start coming out.
Finally back from colorado and first sit in the stand this year...opening day baby....let's do this....I'll catch up on the team thread later....for now I'll soak up a little tree therapy
Going out this weekend. Should have been out the last few days. Huge cold front moves through.... But I had work, kids, etc....
Was in the stand for an evening hunt tonight. No score but did see 3 doe, to far out of range and never came any closer. It was pretty warm out today in the mid 80s, got a storm coming through tonight and all day tomorrow after that it's suppose to be highs of 60s. All and all it was a good sit.
Im not getting serious till about the 20th. Lobster season just opened so Ill fill the freezer with those for now. Went out last night and killedem. Heading back out tonight.
