All depends on where your at. I live in NE Indiana so a "buck of a lifetime" here is going to different than a "buck of a lifetime" in say OkieBowHunter (Jeffrey Jones) neck of the woods. Every deer down that puts food on the table is a trophy and a gift from God to my family. May y'all be blessed this season with good wind, good meat, safe hunting and many peaceful days in the woods!
I think this is a personal thing that is different for every hunter. Location has a lot to do with it in my opinion back home in TN a 100+ inch buck is nothing to scoff at but up here in MD there are P&Y deer shot with some regularity. I shot this buck last week and it is most definitely a unique once in a lifetime buck! I am very proud of this deer and the only possible way to top that for me would be to shoot an honest to goodness P&Y quality typical buck.
Oh my gosh, that's so much better, thank you x10 for cleaning it up! It's like you speak english now.
If I lay RD down this year he'll be categorized as Buck of a Lifetime but not by record books inches wise. He may touch 160 but it is the storyline which plays a huge factor in my opinion too. I mean sure a Booner instantly would get the term for me, but add story and the inches needed begins to plummet.
Hey Tyni maybe the guy is like an English major or something who knows lol but hope ur having a good go at it so far best of luck to u as always
No and not usually super critical of anyone's grammar but I hate getting texts like that also. I figure if it's worth saying and a person's first language is English then cutting one letter out of each word is just sloppy and lazy and for me at least, damn near illegible. It gets almost as goofy to try to read as l33t sp33k.
I understand where your coming from Covey the stuff folks come up with nowadays is redonkulous lol have a good one anyway sir.
Buck of a lifetime, isn't necessarily about how high it scores. I had an awesome buck with double main beams that I would have considered a buck of a lifetime. A big drop tine would also constitute a buck of a lifetime to me. In my neck of the woods, anything over 175 would also probably fit into that category as well.
Some of my best hunts have been when I didn't even get to kill a deer. I would say that my first with a bow was the best.
My dream buck would be a typical booner or a heavy nontypical, over 200" with double split brows, a couple handfuls of kickers and drop or two.
The only good thing about shooting a buck is that the body is usually bigger which means more meat....other that that I rather just shoot all does....Anything on public land with a bow is a trophy to me....Jeremy
