I need to get new camo for the season this year, but I dont want to get something that might be too warm or too cold to wear, and I noticed that Gandermountain ha a 5 pc Gillie suit for sale for $70. When I looked at it closer it seams to be something really light weight and something where if I get a larger size, I would be able to layer underneath it. I'm not really too worried about the strings getting caught up in my draw because I plan on trimming the suit where need be. I was just wondering if anyone else had ever worn one. Thanks!
I just bought the Arcturus Sumertime Green leafy camo suit and it is awesome. I have owned a couple of them and this one looks the most realistic to me. I will be wearing it tomorrow on Opening Day! You can find them on Amazon.
I wear one while bowhunting And turkey hunting definetly think it helps although mine does not look as good as sharp eye SAMs
I saw a real nice one at bass pro yesterday! Only reason I wouldn't is because it seems like a tick magnet to be honest. I bet it works well though.
I have 1 from Cabela's it's the Cabela's Zone Woodlands. It will be the first year using this 1. Scared the crap out of my dog. He was about to attack. I had to take the whole thing off so he would not. They work. I sat in a hedgerow had a deer come behind me so close I could have stuck it with an arrow. That is not a lie or exaggeration. Thought about trying to shoot but to many branches in the way. If you buy the complete suit with head gear make sure you shoot your bow. You might have to trim some pieces so you have a clear aim.
I've used the shaggie suit from 3 rivers it's awesome really like. Haven't used it in awhile but plan to this year
I use the leafy ASAT and ground hunt. it doesn't fool the human eye, but deer walk right up to me, wind willing.
Thanks guys for all your responses...that clinhes it for me...and I think I will go and get it this weekend. I'll report back after using it and let everyone know how I did.
I hunt with my ghillie suit every year. You can't beat it for concealment on the ground. Last year I had a small buck come up from behind and sniff me. Scared the crap out of both of us!
