I spilled blood! Wahoo! But it wasn't a deer. Shot some grouse. Got 6 over the weekend. Fun being out. My brother got out and saw a lot, but no big ones. Another guy did see one of the ones I am after but it was too dark. There are a lot of deer in our area, that is for sure.
Showed cows at the North Carolina Mountain State Fair this weekend, so nothing done for deer season but a very successful weekend in the show ring! Won senior and reserve senior Champion and Grand and reserve Grand champion. Also won both group classes and Premier breeder and Premier exhibitor all in the open show on Saturday. On Sunday in the open Junior show we won senior and Grand champion and also junior county herd.

Here's a couple of deer taken by some co-workers last weekend. I believe that they were close to where I am planning to hunt. Hopefully there is a couple deer of this caliber up there come November! Anyone get out for their openers yet?
I haven't gotten out yet due to being at school. I am heading home after class tomorrow night and will be in the stand or ground blind Friday morning and hopefully put something down.
