If the above in bold is true that is nuts. Marks and cuts that are a week old a 4 year olds back, buttocks, scrotum, legs, and hands? That is not good.

Fyi, I am very surprised that picture that was posted, if real, was leaked to the press. The victim in this case is a juvenile and those laws are tight on confidentiality.

Remember the NFL is under very intense scrutiny for it's lack of discipline on domestic abuse. The NFL will see this as a chance to redeem itself. I believe the new guidelines for punishment is six games but I bet it will be longer because it's a child

Why in the hell would a 4 year old have switch marks all over his body? I cannot imagine how guys who make $10,000,000 a year could be frustrated by much of anything raising their kids. Just go find something fun to do...hell they have the means to do it.

The one thing I respect about Peterson is he admitted to disciplining his child. He didn't lie. He didn't get a high powered attorney who called his baby momma a liar. He didn't hire a private investigator to destroy the image of his childs mom or the physician who treated his kid. He told the truth about using a switch to discipline his kid.

Right...six games is the minimum suspension

The new policy also takes into account factors such as kids, pregnant women, weapons, etc being involved

If what is being reported is true there is no chance he only gets six games. I'm thinking he's gone for the season or indefinitely.

I agree. There is no way in heck Godell isn't going to make ammends for his Rice fiasco at Adrians expense. Peterson is going to get crucified (as he should). What a POS! This league is in a really bad place right now.

I'm not down on physical punishment of children. My mother used a belt on my bare tail when I failed to meet her expectations. I was generally very well behaved, so it happened rarely. But any red marks that were left were gone the next day. Petersen would have to be some kind of animal to beat a child like that. He should get prison time. And that animal should never be around any children again.

AP has 7 kids not counting the one that died, his father was in prison for crack dealing and money laundering. Not a history of making good choices. Ray Rice has to be thankful he is bumped from the hot topic

Its a shame. Best in the NFL and future hall of famer. And now his rep is tarnished.

I got spanked as a child plenty but never had cuts or welts. He took it too far.

This post made me rethink my stance. However, until we get the final facts on the case, I will not make a judgement. That being said, if there are bruises and cuts on the areas described in previous posts, he needs to sit behind bars for a bit.

The County Prosecutor involved with the case was quoted in a story saying whoever leaked the photos will face punishment.

N.J. man who left pig mask on stabbed ex-wife gets 50 years

Four members of suburban Chicago family found shot to death

Ohio mom, 2 sons dead in apparent murder-suicide

Police: 8-year-old missing Arizona girl strangled

Police: Woman, 40, used boy, 13, for sex, drugs

These are the headlines on Fox news right now, but I don't see a post about any of them.
You guys are great, a man spanks his kid you want his life over, simply be cause of who he is, not because of what he has done.

    God I miss Vito!

Right, the water cooler section had a lot to do with shaping the laws of Montgomery County, Texas and conduct codes of the NFL.

Whatever medication you are on I suggest trying a different dosage.

I thought the same thing, he stepped up and admitted to it, mostly because he thinks he didn't do anything wrong. I gave my kid a "whoppin'" just like my dad me, whats the big deal.
I got the switch when I was a kid once or twice but my dad wasn't a NFL running back and didn't have the arms that AP has. That guy is pure muscle.
