Was a quiet again and as I walked in I still couldn't believe the alfalfa was still on and uncut! Again I was thinking with the deer bedded south of me and a south wind in my favor it was going to happen. Nothing, zilch, except at 7 a Bull Moose walked to with in 45 yards and beded ,I was thinking he was waiting for the sun to set and then make his way out to the field. Figure I have a draw for my bull so I wouldn't have been able to shoot him either, different zone..Last time I had a draw for a bull I kept calling in cow moose. That's the way it go's some times. Hung another TC too.
    Back out tomorrow night

I don't, but I'm not huge on scents. I use an occasional bottle of tinks power scrape to get something started or I'll use a scent drag with some code blue or tinks #69 on it. I typically only use those during the rut/pre rut and I can't quantify whether they helped or not. I've only been hunting three years and both bucks I've shot were on evenings not using any type of scent attraction.

So my question about a scent cooker is all based around an idea I have had for a helpful tool in the woods. I quit smoking using an electric cigarette about a year and a half ago and I'm almost at the point to completely quit smoking.

So, this is where my idea started from. I figured what is the difference between the juice i smoke, mostly vegetable glycerin, and Tinks or code blue? If I built the coil a certain way i could use my old e-cig as a wind indicator and a masking tool for my scent. I know people who use the Tinks incense and this is basically the same thing.

It seems a little over the top but i plan on experimenting with it this fall.

My season opens in the morning. Leaving for the cabin here in about 2 hours. Weather will be great. I'm hoping to get us on the board this weekend and think there is about a 50% chance I do so.

Couple of squirrels, it's amazing what noise they can make for such a small critter.

Good luck with your season openers guys! Sorry haven't been on the forum the past couple days, been working a ton of overtime and now I'm sitting on a job site and it's Saturday morning! Totally sucks! My season openers Monday! Hopefully be done with overtime and be able to get out team a doe at least.
