Well I got out and shot today for the first time in a long time. I got some new BHs(Thunder head Razor) so I wanted to see how they are flying. I got out to 50 yards and they were still hitting dead on! Seeing that just made me more excited for the opener, knowing my bow is all set. I will probably be getting out sometime this week to do a morning scout to see if I can see how they are moving by a spot I'm considering for opening day. I'll let you know how it goes and post video if I'm able to get anything good.

Good deal. I just snuck in a session. After warming up, I'm killing at 50 yards. Still have a couple of weeks before the BH's go on, however.

Yeah, I can't hunt until Oct 1st but I decided to change BHs a couple weeks ago and just now got to shoot them to make sure they were all good. I won't shoot past 30 at deer but knowing they fly true out to 50 yards makes me feel that much better.

I'm thinking mid-October. Gives me about 3 weeks with the practice blades, switching to real blades, just before the season starts.

Whew, glad I checked in before my computer went belly up. Man, that is a pain. We are wayyyyy to dependent on these dumb things!

Anyway, to update the spreadsheet, Dean-MN-32 years Hunting, Sept 13 opener. I have 2 bucks on cam that are in the 140s that I will be looking for and our area has much better potential (238" was shot a mile and half from me). Having said all that, I will be grouse hunting with the buddies opening weekend! Hope my brother, who is on Team 7, gets one of them. Actually, the odds are pretty good one of them gets shot this year, but quite possibly could be by gun.

Well I've got some bad news guys... I went on opening day, which was Saturday here in Kentucky, and got a chance with the buck that I posted a picture of earlier. He was 38 yards out, so I sent the G5 T3 flying. What looked like a great shot as he was running away, turned out to be a shoulder shot. I found my arrow about 40 yards from where I hit him, the first couple inches of my arrow broke off in him.The spotty blood trail lasted about two hundred yards and just quit. I'm hoping he's still kickin somewhere out there so I can get another shot at him. DSCN0179.jpg

    Double,

That does indeed sound disappointing. I am just south of HWY 64 is where I hunt. Have ran into some tough times in the past week on my end too with my brother and I losing a lease due to the guys unhappy kids. On another note the camera action has been decent. A few shooters have shown up and will be doing another card pull this Wednesday. As far as bear I hear you there. I drew a bear tag this year and was not even able to bait this summer due to a very time consuming internship I had this summer for school. Needless to say the bear numbers will not be changing much by me.

Temps are dropping here in the Silver State. It was 39 when I left the house around 4 this morning. Come on November!

temps plummeted here overnight. highs in the low 50s, lows in the upper 30s or 40s. I love it!

What the heck are you doing leaving the house at 4 am? Other than hunting season, I didn't know there WAS a 4 am!

2 things I thought I would mention- 1. don't let this contest alter your hunt in any way. 2. Be safe climbing trees, cuz if you crash and die.....odds are you wont have a score to post! Seriously, make yourself take 30 seconds more climbing that tree.

For sure take your time climbing the tree! My uncle 2 weeks back fell while moving a set and broke both his legs, left ankle, back, and possible torn ACL. Unhooked from harness for one second to bust loose stand and down he went. Season starts here on Saturday. Got down to 40 last night with a high around 57 today. Looking at about 35 degrees for opening morning!

We open next Monday and it got the coolest this week that's it been in a while. High in the low-mid 80s and lows in the 60s. Hoping it cool off some more before next weekend when I can finally get in the woods

I'm going out today and do a run through like it was opening day. The temps are high 50s right now and it feels great so I couldn't sit inside all day. I'll try and post some pictures later
