I work in KC, but the homestead is in a little dot on the map called Toronto, KS. Beautiful down here

Saw the first few cornfields being harvested this week. Also: tracked down my #1 buck from last year. Super mature 6x6 [IMG][IMG]

Oh wow, he's gorgeous! Is his jaw problem something new or from an old problem? Hopefully it's old and okay.

Well boys made it to the property today. I'm getting excited. Corn has been cut and bucks are around (were).

Moved one camera on the feeder to get some inventory and another in a brand new spot on the property that I'm excited to see if it gets anything.

One cam didn't have much but the one on the monster raxx site got some good ones.

2-300 pics of the 10 point. 150 of the 8, a few of the freak. Have a few other close shooter running around. This 8 is looking really good :)

    Cool deer.
Apparently that 8 point is only like a 120" deer based on another thread now running.

Lol I was thinking 130-140 but I have no idea. He looks tall and most deer don't lose height just mass when they come out of velvet. I think I have 2 bigger deer across the river. I usually get some new bucks during the rut. A lot of surprises will show up on camera in November. Can't wait to get out. Would love to shoot a big buck early on.

Might check cams one more time this weekend but probably going to leave my spots as quiet as possible until opening day.

You boyz ready? Did you see the forecast for the week of the opener? My prediction is some bruisers will fall the first week! I need a N/NE wind to make it happen! Good luck to you all!

Upper 60's and 70's but my weather channel app forecast stops at the 14th. Looks pretty good.

I was just wishing the other night I had some deer steak...

So far nothing new for me on camera that's mature. A new young 10 and young 8 have started showing up. I've been gone the last 10 days on vacation so I'm pretty excited to get home and pull those cards one last time before the season opens. I'm praying that light colored 10 is still sticking to his routine. He's the one on the right in the picture and I'll arrow him if I get the chance. Otherwise I think I'll be very selective until the rut approaches to see what shows up then.

Dayum, those are both really nice. I've never seen a buck with that silver coloration, I agree I'd target that one as well. He'd make an awesome mount. I have a doe with twins that has that coloration but to see it on a buck and carried through the velvet is just breath taking.
