Guys, I'll touch base w/ Matt to see if he can make us an avatar.

Also, Countryboy95 has surfaced and sent me a PM today. I know from some of his previous posts he is a newer bowhunter, let's see if we can help him tag his first whitetail with a bow this year. I'll see if I can get him to sign on here.

RJ asked me to come up with something for your avatar.

First attempt (I actually color masked yours...brown leaves/deer over BW background):

just got back from some scouting. It was pretty exciting for me. On the way in I ran into a doe and fawn, probably about 20 yards away from me trying to figure out what I was. Then I went and took a seat at a spot where three trails come together. I sat their for a couple of hours and saw a body of a deer cross one of the trails and then I saw another doe browsing in the trail. Just before dark I decided to sneak over to the back of a field near where I was. I saw a couple of does feeding then I look over and saw my first buck of the year. He was a tall 6 point, nothing great I was just relieved as I hadn't had a buck on trail camera or seen one al year long.A couple of does were leaving the field and they were heading right at me. I froze with my binos at my face. The lead doe got to about 10 feet and saw me, she blew at me and hightailed it out of their blowing the warning the whole way out bringing all of the other deer with her. I won't be going back their again until opening day so hopefully I haven't spooked them to bad.

Our team has been a real quiet lately...we are on the countdown for the opener here in PA starting Oct 3rd...then two weeks after that would be New York...

Should have a few stands up by then to be able to hunt.

Been working like an idiot lately , seems like this ( part time job ) is getting more full time.
But thats coming to stop once opening day gets here.
I'm gonna go back out soon to put another stand up and do some more scouting , maybe check some diffrent spots too.

I was thinking we were becoming team Silent but Deadly. ;)

I really don't have anything new to add on the deer front. I'm down to 14.5 hours of volunteer time left at the park. Let me tell you, when it's pulling weeds and picking seeds... 14.5 hours still seems like a long time.

I kind of wish deer season was another two months away. I'm still in fishing, gardening and playing in the yard mode. :)

Well so far I have three stands in PA set (same property) and 4 in NY (with 2 more to set)...I pulled my trail camera's out for the time being as I didn't want to be scentin' up the areas I will be hunting. I personally know what is there (and I know I don't know them all) but feel going in every week tends to change deer movements.

my season starts Saturday the 12th in the expanded zone in Maine. I hung a couple of stands saturday at an apple orchard where I will hunt most of my time in the early season. Looking forward to just sitting in a tree and relaxing.
