I'll admit I find SnS annoying and a argument starter, but I learned my lesson last year when I earned myself a two week ban. Now I just try to ignore the B-holes and just enjoy reading most of the posts here, seeing the property and trail cam pics, and continuing to learn more about something I've found a passion for. I have a long ways to go and much more to learn, so no point letting myself get derailed and letting jerks push me over the edge. Hopefully one of these days I'll make it to a GTG, may have to be once I retire from the Army though.
Just ignore them. I know a lot of you guys ignore me. But like someone else said, don't take things too seriously, don't say things you wouldn't but also don't let someone get under your skin on the internet. You'll never win.
I don't know about you guys, but my life has been crazy busy and stressful for years. I don't come on here to fight. There are only a few members on here that really tick me off and some of them could probably say the same about me. HUNTING IS FUN! Bring it FALL 2014! What in the heck is there to be so serious about on here?
I'm not one to get upset with people either, but I get tired of browsing through all the useless posts, particularly SnS's posts. Especially when they are intentionally useless, just to get a rise out of people. Thats part of the reason I don't come here as much as I used to. If I wanted to listen to a bunch of useless rambling, I'd go to the bars.
Soooo....activity is frowned upon unless youve been a member since 2008??? Admittedly not all of my post have been bowhunting related, and I assumed that was what the "watercooler" forum was for. Because of my time difference, I am typically up when evryone stateside is not...and this forum has been AWESOME for not only keeping me involved in bowhunting, giving folks something to keep their brains occupied when nothing else seems to work and the like....However, I also have many years bowhunting experience as do a lot of the "new" members and there is a ton of useful info that is passed regardless of how often or how rarely they post. Its unfortunate that theres an Us vs Them (old breed, new breed) mentality, but if my participation or utilization of "other than bowhunting" conversations and threads are disruptive or offensive and I too am considered to be a troll then obviously it will be stopped....I dont do facebook or any of that other social media for these exact reasons but i figured like minded individuals would be less likely to engage in that sort of stuff. I get that noone is saying that I personally am a "troll" admittedly, I still dont know what constitutes that title..but if post count/time on station ratio is a determining factor, then I am so advised... I will keep my posts to a minimum.
Lol you are hovering around 200 posts/month for nearly 6 years. You better hope so! I want to be the resident troll now, can we take a vote on it?
I don't have the time, energy or desire for the drama. I simply skim past the posts of trollers or people that want to hear themselves talk/type until there is a post about something that pertains to the topic (if there is one). If it gets too annoying where the thread is hijacked with a pissing contest, I don't open it anymore. Much easier that way rather than engaging in back and forth BS. UNLESS.... it's sports related. Then I feel it's my duty as the most knowledgeable sports authority on this site. Or any other for that matter!
Posting a lot of quality posts doesn't make you a troll. But when you post insane amounts if posts like SnS did then you become a troll. Nearly all if his posts where arguments or "ssssswack" or "I don't know". Nothing he posted was helpful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't quite get posts like this though. What am I not really welcome here because I haven't been a member for five years and not a member of the "core group?" I may be misreading what you posted, but I'm also a member of another forum and some people there do the same thing. "Oh it's so sad that this person and that person, etc. is not here any more. Things were so great back in those days." I don't get it. May The Sheep Be With You
Wow I take a little summer break from the site and all hell has broken loose. Please October 1st get here! Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
