Favorite all time by far are spitfires I've had great results every time. Honorable mention goes to slick trick magnums they are my favorite fixed head. Don't really have a worst but I have to say I am really not a fan of any style muzzy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wow those bring up some bad memories!!! by far the worst broadhead of all time IMO..Pucketts Bloodtrailer... of the 3 deer I have lost two are the result of those broadheads. I should have shot them with field points... Ironically...not a drop of blood EVER...Killed 4 deer and lost 2 before I gave them up...6 deer and less than an ounce of blood on the ground. The blood that was on the ground accidentally spilled out when the deer fell over... Best broadhead has to be the good ol' Muzzy 3 blade. Cost efficient, sharp as sh!t and durable. I am experimenting with other BH currently but ALWAYS have one in my quiver.
Like - Rocky Mountain Titanium and G5 Monotec Dislike - Rage 2 blade Killed my first deer with Ricky Mountain BH, found some brand new ones hidden amongst my equipment last year and killed nice doe, watched her drop
Muzzy Phantoms have been great for me on pigs and deer. I got some slick tricks last year and they fly great but I haven't put one into an animal yet.
Favorite: G5 Montecs Also like: Thunderheads Worst: Rage 3 blade (constantly deployed in quiver or on bow) Muzzy 4-blade (never could get them to fly straight)
I really like the Muzzy 3 blade. However, the last few years, I have been using two blade broadheads. I used Magnus buzzcuts last year and liked them a lot. I am going to try out the Magnus Stingers this year although I would like to try out the standard Slick Tricks as well.
Likes: Trophy ridge buck hammer mechanicals: (never lost a deer with them, used one to kill four deer one season) Dislikes: Blood runner 2-blade Rage anything Still looking for the perfect broadhead Trying Magnus stingers and shuttle T's this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Favorites- killzone and ulmer edge Worst- crimson talon. Incredibly cheaply made and weren't durable at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Best : QAD Exodus. Fly great (I've shot them out to 60 yards), are very tough and very sharp. Worst : Rocket Mini-Blaster. Flew ok, but the rubber bands were almost too tight. I shot a doe and the band was still on and the head was closed. Granted this was A LONG time ago I know mechanical heads are much better these days
I've had great luck with Magnus Buzzcuts. Pretty sure I'll use them as long as they keep making them! SCFox
I haven't had a bad experience with broadheads, but my two favorites so far are Spitfires and Slick Tricks. I haven't used the STs in the field yet but they fly exactly like my field tips and seem to be tough as nails. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do.
Fixed Approve: Muzzy 100's 3 blade Only one bad experience and it was same as the original post. Mechanical Approve: Swacker 100's, G5 T3's Mechanical Disprove: Grem Reaper X-Bow RC 100's Blades disroyed every shot. Open up good hole but Swacker will do same and use BH again = less expense. Will use ones I have left on frezzer meat"Doe"
Likes for compound: Swhacker, NAP Killzones. Likes for recurve: Almost anything Muzzy, Magnus Stingers. Dislikes: Rage, Grim Reaper.
Best so far: G5 Montecs Worst: Some generic mechanical I can't remember. Blades froze closed in a winter hunt where it was snowing. Shot a doe and hit shoulder, the arrow fell right back out, rubber band frozen in place, with shut blades. I have yet to shoot a deer with the Montecs, but they fly to the same point of aim as my field tips. Plus they are plenty sharp, and there isn't anything to go wrong with the head as long as I keep it sharp. One less thing to worry about when I do finally make a shot.
LIKE: G5 T3's - 1 Turkey, 6 deer Trophy Taker Shuttle T Lock - 1 Deer NAP Killzone - 1 Turkey Dislike G5 Montec (Didn't fly well for my set up. I know several people that love them) Look like a good fixed blade.
don't know why there's "hate" for the Montecs' durability. Sure they're small, but they are tough little SOBs. I buried a practice head halfway into a cured ash log the other day and it wasn't phased. The point was still plenty sharp.
