I hunt one property in West Rowan a few miles from Mocksville. Right near Cooleme. You've probably heard of Woodleaf, NC.

Ok so question for you NC hunters, since I move there in September and a bit confused on the season rules. For the Eastern zone it shows Archery from 7 Sept to 27 Sept, then the dates for muzzleloader then gun. Are you only allowed to hunt archery during the 7-27 Sept dates or can you hunt archery during the muzzle/gun dates as well?

You can bow hunt in NC all season jus have to follow muzzloader an rifle rules like where Orange during those season.an if you get a chance come out up in the mtns of western nc we don't have as many deer as down east but they are a lot bigger body.

zjohn, thanks that makes me feel a little better about being able to get some time in the woods with the bow in this year! Timing for my move from Ft Rucker to Ft Bragg causes me to miss the AL season completely, and miss the 7-27 Sept dates by two days!

I screwed up my shoulder and have shot little this year, but did some casual practice on Saturday...4 weeks ago I couldn't draw my bow... shot of cortisone and some exercise has gotten back a good bit of mobility[IMG]

And decided I'd give it a solid go yesterday, shooting at spots @ 25yds, holding shots longer before releasing to try to build more strength [IMG]

Mind you I'm not shooting a bow with much letoff.

Still working on strength and technique. In a week or two, I'll start moving back further and practicing from a stand.

zjohn- What did you plant? I'm planning on doing buck forage oats this year in NC and on our lease in OH.

I got 2 different 1/2 acre plots. I planted a bag of a clover blend by spike plot mixed with some wheat an oats also planted corn an sunflowers around the out side of it I feel like it makes the deer feel more comfortable an has good results last year with same set up. Got 2 shooters on cam so far one I know will b close to having 10 inch brows but good thing about July most bucks grow an inch per day or I've read that they do. I wish I could jus hunt for a living but don't we all.
