I got my first experience with archery in the Boy Scouts at summer camp. I'll be honest, I didn't really enjoy it that much. In Phys. Ed. in high school, the last month was archery. And once again, I didn't enjoy it much. During my deployment, I got talking with a good buddy of mine and he would go on talking about the bowhunts he's been on and the ones he wanted to do. About 8 months after I got home (August 2012) (and after I bought my house) I traded for an old Browning Dual Express. I shot that for about 8 months before I bought my Encounter (July 2013). I'm about 3 - 4 years from being able to afford a new bow, but that's fine, I love my bow.

Two big things I've noticed in the responses to this post. First of all, a lot of us had Bear Whitetail Hunters. And secondly, it seems most of us remember our bows more than some of the girlfriends we had.:rock:
