Well I guess I just lost my partner that was coming out with me. So I am -1 right now so if any of the elk veterans want to take a new guy under their wing and teach me the ropes I'd appreciate it. I have a strong back and a will to learn (wink wink nudge nudge if you know what i mean)

    New This Year

On August 5, licenses avaIlable online, In Person, by Phone

It’s the only date you need to remember if you don’t get licenses in the primary or left overdraws. All remaining licenses offered for the 2014 hunting seasons go on sale at 9 a.m. Aug. 5 (mountain daylight time). These licenses will be sold at CPW locations, license agents, by phone at 1-800-244-5613, and online.

LEFOVER LIMITED LICENSES: These are available to both resident and nonresident hunters. They are the limited licenses remaining aft er the draw and left over draw processes.

OVER-THE-COUNTER LICENSES WITH CAPS: A preset number of licenses are available on a firstcome, first-served basis for resident and nonresident hunters. These are called licenses “with caps.”

•OVER-THE-COUNTER UNLIMITED LICENSES: These are available to resident and nonresident hunters. There are an unlimited number of these licenses that may be purchased at any time up until the day before your hunting season starts. After the season starts, they are available at CPW offices only.

So what would be the best way to purchase my license? Online before I get out there or when I get there?

I always pick mine up at wal-mart on the way in. Only takes a few minutes as long as you have all of your info ready. Make sure you bring your hunters safety card:) It's not fun if you don't.

I'm not sure. Maybe Colby will chime in with that answer. I went up for spring break, while I was up there I registered my hunter's safety with the CDOW. I will no longer have to show mine when I purchase a tag.

I have a challenger diagram and bugle tube. Then I also have some Sceery closed reed cow calls. I like the ease of use on the hoochy mamma call

I bought a baby hoochy mamma but might also get the hoochy mamma as well. Trying to figure out what bugle to buy.

I dont know as far as the endorsement. If it were of personally the day tags go on sale I would purchase online to know I for sure had a license before driving a long ways. Dont be afraid to call the Colorado division of wildlife and ask them about it. They wound be able to tell you exactly what you need and weather your endorsement is accepted or not. In Colorado you do not need an archery specific safety card ours are a general hunter safety card

There are lots of options out there for calls. But in all honesty I dont call much. A bugle or two first thing in the morning to see if I can get an answer back. In 2012 they would answer back once maybe twice then go silent.

Yes sir understandable. I always like to learn calls for any species I hunt. I even have a mourning dove whistle

Thought I had a more robust Sitka set. I just got my box from my ex-wife, turns out I only have next to skin and also the Sitka stratus jacket elevated forest in optifade forest.

Sell that jacket and pick up the other camo? use it for this?

I also don't know what sitka has been doing lately but I think theyre trying to get rid of their 2013 lineup. I saw the 90% jacket for 60% off on camofire.com I had seen things for 40% before, but 60%, wow.
