I can certainly understand why it is offensive, but trying to expose the guy or ruin his life for lying about something that really doesn't affect anyone else seems awful petty.

Yeah, its definitely a scumbag and dbag thing to do and devalues the actual accomplishments of the men who earned the pins or medals, but it is still a victimless act.

You see, it is HE who is trying to ruin his life, not anyone else. If he wants to wear big boy pins and medals and make outrageous claims, why shouldn't people let everyone know? By taking those photos and making those claims, it seems he wants everyone to know. Why not help him out?

Imo, this is a horrible offense, let the proper people know and move on.

No need in trying to destroy his life. He will have enough to deal with when the time comes.

Destroy his life? He wanted people to see his fake medals before he got called out. I don't see the big deal of forwarding on his information and pictures. That is what he wanted.

Do you really believe he has the mental capacity to understand the repercussions of his actions?

I'm guessing he's a little man that wanted to be looked up to some how, like a small town hero, instead of a house keeper, in fact if he was so inept as to fail totally at each assignment then why was he not discharged early?

John, I am not trying to make this out to be a huge deal, however I do not think this guy should escape without being shamed. Yes I do believe he has the mental capacity to understand his actions. Look at his girl, he obviously used his 81 IQ to trick that pretty little thing into being with him.

Marines sit around and play video games and drink mountain dew? Wtf? Sounds like they need to clean house at the top too.

Well Brett, maybe he has a PHD, she is a blond and he sounds more like private Pyle than a special forces candidate to me, so that's about all I have left, in some rural small towns a PHD IE.(Pop Has Dough) is enough to get you the local prom queen!

It doesn't matter if he doesn't understand he shouldn't be doing this. I'm guessing he's not too dumb to realize he shouldn't be doing this. Are you saying that we should let him be and have his town look upon his as a hero?

Maybe I'm old school on this one, but I think if I were a marine that felt shame from the actions of this guy, and what he brings to the uniform, a good ole fashioned azz kicking and ribbon burning would be more justified in my mind, than this name calling little ***** fest.

True... He is a complete scumbag.

No idea why any of the bolded text needed to be said... Sounds like you just hate the man for who he is and not for what he did.

I think it's a combination of both and I could see why he is getting emotional over it as I might also be reacting the same if it were someone I knew.

I will not just sit back and let someone do this without voicing my opinion. For all the Military here we are ingrained the military traditions and to hold ourselves to the highest standards. I know in my NCO creed it states to commend the deserving and encourage the wayward. Also states they will reflect an image of me so when one steps out of place it needs to be corrected. Marine for life right. Need to live it true and through!
