Good Morning All, What do you all think is the best target out there. Practicing hard for a elk hunt this fall, and want someting that I can practice everyday and will hold up. Thanks in advance!
I have a The block target and it is holding up pretty well. Its depends what distance are you going to shoot at? And do you a want a 3D target?
Don't really need a 3D. I will be shoot pretty long distances. Need to be very consistent at 50 yards.
I built a compressed carpet target last July because they are supposed to last a long time. I am shooting through it in several spots already. I wanted to go with a "Blob" target but I think they went out of business. I am looking at block targets or a bag target now for my already built 20" x 24" stand (it is on posts with a roof). That carpet box is a pain in the butt to take apart and find carpet to replace it so I am not messing with it again.
For FP the best I have used is the Morrell Elite bag target. 2 year warranty ($90 or so). For BH it is easy......any Rinehart. ($70-1000)
I have a homemade layered carpet target that is new this year so I cant say much for durability but I can say the arrow are a lot easier to pull than in my block. I have had the brown block target for 5 years now and I am still not shooting through it. It has held up very well.
The Morrell bag targets are good, and so is a Third Hand Rag Bag. 25 bucks and you fill it yourself with old clothes, sheets, towels, whatever.
