I checked cams on one of my farms today that I haven't turkey hunted on. Got out of the truck at 12:30 and when I shut the door, boom, turkey gobbled down in the pines. He probably gobbled 15-20 times. Went a checked one the cams and there he was, 20 minutes before I got there. I might switch it up this weekend and hunt this farm. I've had a lot of toms on camera the last few days and it looks like there would be less competition with hens on this farm.

    Today...

Nice!! Good thing to as it gets later in the season less hens are breading so the toms are more desperate looking for a willing hen. Ive always had good luck in May. April it seems like I have more hens steal away toms then anything.

Well hopefully buckeye will knock one down this weekend, then you on monday and me next weekend. I dont have any hunters for this weekend so I am probably going to head out to the farm check and put put some more cams out then work on food plots. I also need to head over to a buddies and get the light rail welded up on the boat so after turkey season I can do a little bowfishing.

I bought a bowfishing rig a month or so back but haven't gone yet. I can't wait to go!

Yeah I dipped into it a little last year and had a blast, but quickly found out that its 10 times better if u have a light set up on the boat vs just a spot light. I went ahead and bought 8 LED and going to run them off 2 batteries. Have everything just need the rail welded up so I can put it all togther. I probably wont get out at all until after turkey season cause pretty much all my weekends will have to be up at 4 to go hunting

I have a house on a lake and I see a few boats out at night and I am hoping that I can hop a ride one night with them! How is your bow case working out for you?

If I didn't have a bunch of people and someone wanted to jump in I would let them. If u wanted to make a drive more then welcome to go with me anytime u want. Case is working great so far, my bow survived its flights so it did its job. Well I seen on FB we have one bird down for our team but he's still got a few tags to try and fill.

No luck Saturday for me. Sunday I only had a few hours to hunt so I decided to hit a farm close to home with the 870 and had my first double bearded tom down by 6:45. We have 2 weeks of season left and starting today we can hunt all day instead of till noon. I'll have the bow out for the remainder of the season. Gonna try for a Friday evening hunt and all weekend. A lot of the birds at the lease have been coming in between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Man you sure know how to get me fired up! My bags are packs for a 3 day excursion to kill a bigger bird. Do you want to do a friendly wager? :p It may push both of us to get it done! I propose whom ever loses has to buy the other guy a BHOD hat (when available) assuming you don't have one.

I'll be heading out after work tonight to set up my blind on a new property. A buddy is seeing lots of birds so hopefully this weekend I can make something happen.
