Hey guys I need some feedback. I didn't like the way my QAD was shooting so I put on a new RipCord Code Red. I had replaced my old Code Red in January because I thought I needed the upgrade. Well I put everything on but I think I may have installed the release cable to high on my "down" cable. I looked at pics from last year and the place is beyond the bottom of my grip. Please look at the pics I 've attached. I greatly appreciate your help!!
No...Im saying it appears to me I didn't move the anchor point where it attaches to the down cable enough... Since I have cut of excess, I cant move it down any further...Or does it matter??
Thought so...Thanks for your opinion. I apologize for not being more detailed about my issue. It shoots fine. It was raining here when I get it done and now its dark and I'm shooting at my indoor bag. I will check it in the morning.
Should be fine....For future reference on the Ripcords & Qads I always measure 3" below the bottom of the rest down the cable and that's where I serve them in.
I set mine up to engage about an inch from full draw, I think that is in your set-up instructions. Looking at your pictures make sure you have at least a credit card gap between your rest prong and riser shelf in the down position, if not it will bounce and brake will not work causing bad arrow flight.
Rip cord actually suggest that you tie in as high as possible, this reduces wear on the rest cord at the opening where it enters the housing as it eliminates some rubbing by reducing the downward angle. I put mine just below the exising roller serving on the cable. Yours looks pretty spot on to me.
