I killed a bunch of deer with rages. I always sharpened the blades myself. Even reused a number of them to kill other deer. When in doubt, sharpen them.
I also have great luck with the rage heads, keep in mind you can kill a deer with a field tip if you hit it in the heart or both lungs but there is no fix or better broadhead for a poor hit period.
I like the Rage Hypodermics design...just wish the blades would not break off so easy. I seen 2 killed last season with them. Both deer were pass throughs with his Helim. Both times the blade broke moreless on impact when they hit the ribs. The exit holes were about an inch. Just too brittle for me. If not for that, i'd probably hunt with my Hypodermics. BTW, his were generic either...lol.
HA. Good Catch, Weren't generic I meant...lol. I like the design a lot of Hypodermics....just not too sure about the blades yet.
I heard that they make replacement blades for the Hypodermics that are formed in a different process that makes them stronger. You can order just the new blades and fix your old ones.
They make replacement blades for all of the Rage heads as far as I know. I like the chisel tip 2 blades the best. All that I have used for deer or turkeys been very sharp.
They were mine, they were a hunting buddy of mines. I won't hunt with mine...lol. I don't think he wants to try them anymore...two in a row broke the same way on entry. He went back to Swhackers or Muzzy....can't remember. I hate that it happened. I would have liked to tried mine, but just sticking with what I have and works great for me. Thanks though...
